TrueFix Tampa

Appliance Service for Tampa Houses, Condos and Rentals

Garage laundry pairs, condo dishwashers, bungalow kitchens and the second fridge out by the water heater: we repair them where they're installed, for homeowners, renters, landlords and small businesses across Pinellas County. The technician finds the fault on the spot and quotes it; nothing is fixed without your sign-off. Choose your area below to see its ZIP list and the communities it includes.

Condos & gated communities
High-rises Downtown or on Bayshore, HOA gates in Westchase or New Tampa: put the gate code, elevator rules or guest parking spot in your notes.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.
Upstairs laundry
In a two-story home a leaking washer shows up on the ceiling below. Close the supply valves and keep the door shut; we can drain it on site.
Hard water
Mineral scale collects in fill valves and spray arms. White film on dishes or a slow fill is worth noting in your booking.

Appliance Repair Notes for Pinellas County

In Pinellas County our map holds 3 service areas and 34 ZIP codes. It runs from Clearwater Beach and downtown Clearwater through Largo, Seminole and Palm Harbor up to Oldsmar, and south through St. Petersburg, Gulfport and South Pasadena. The Gulf beach towns other than Clearwater Beach are outside it, and so are Tarpon Springs and Safety Harbor. Inside those lines, plenty of addresses read Clearwater, Largo or St. Petersburg while the land is really unincorporated county or a small town. Every visit starts with a diagnosis at the home and a price you approve first.

Pinellas is a peninsula, Tampa Bay on its east side and Boca Ciega Bay and the Gulf on its west, with a chain of barrier islands along the outer edge. The land is flat and low almost everywhere, and a long stretch of shoreline is canals and filled bay bottom. St. Petersburg, at the southern tip, has the oldest neighborhoods: the Old Northeast and Kenwood bungalows and Snell Isle's 1920s villas. Clearwater grew around its own downtown and the causeway to Clearwater Beach. Between them, Largo, Seminole, Pinellas Park and Lealman filled in with block ranches, apartments, condos and mobile home parks, and the north end around Palm Harbor, East Lake and Oldsmar is mostly newer subdivisions.

A few things hold across the county. Homes sit on concrete slabs, so the laundry is in a garage, a utility room or a closet. No house on the peninsula is far from salt water. Duke Energy Florida supplies most of the power, though Oldsmar is on Tampa Electric. And the envelope can mislead: Palm Harbor, East Lake, Lealman and Feather Sound are unincorporated communities, not cities, while Kenneth City, Belleair and Belleair Bluffs are small municipalities of their own.

Call us or book online, and pick the visit time that suits your day.

Our service areas

St. Petersburg (13 ZIP codes): Old Northeast bungalows, Kenwood, Shore Acres, Gulfport and the downtown towers. St. Pete, Gulfport & Lealman; bungalows, block ranches, towers.

Clearwater (10 ZIP codes): Clearwater Beach condos, Harbor Oaks, Countryside homes and Feather Sound by the bay. Clearwater, Belleair, county; beach towers to countryside.

Largo, Dunedin & Palm Harbor (11 ZIP codes): Largo and Seminole homes and parks, Palm Harbor, East Lake and Oldsmar. Largo, Seminole, Oldsmar; ranches, parks & lake suburbs.

From 1920s bungalows to lifted rebuilds

Our Pinellas work covers several eras of house. St. Petersburg's early neighborhoods have bungalows and Mediterranean Revival homes whose kitchens and laundry were fitted in decades after they were built. Postwar block ranches fill most of the middle of the county, the garage doing duty as laundry room and second-fridge space. Condo towers stand in downtown St. Petersburg, downtown Clearwater and on Clearwater Beach, and condo and apartment complexes turn up nearly everywhere else.

Since 2024 there's a newer kind: bayside homes that flooded in Helene and were lifted or rebuilt higher. In those, the appliances live a floor up, vents and drain lines run farther, and access means stairs or an elevator. Tell us what kind of home you have when you book, and we'll plan the visit around it.

What Helene and Milton did here

Helene passed far offshore on September 26, 2024, yet its surge set records in Pinellas. The National Weather Service measured water 6.67 feet above the normal high-tide line at Clearwater Beach and 6.31 feet at St. Petersburg, the highest ever at both gauges. Shore Acres, Snell Isle, Gulfport and other low neighborhoods took bay water into homes and garages.

Two weeks later Milton came ashore near Siesta Key and hit Pinellas with wind and rain rather than surge. Gusts reached 101 mph at Albert Whitted Airport, which logged 18.54 inches of rain in one day, nearly triple its old record. Duke Energy's restoration in Pinellas ran into the following week, and broken mains put St. Petersburg's water customers under a boil-water notice. Any appliance that stood in flood water should be inspected before it is switched on.

Have the model number ready

A photo of the rating label beats any description of the symptom. It pins down the part numbers and that model's known weak spots, and it makes a one-visit repair far more likely.

Every part we fit is chosen by that model number. Original manufacturer parts come first when they can be had; if an equivalent is the better or only option, you hear that before it goes in.

When a replacement is the better buy

Some appliances are done. When the repair would cost close to half the price of a comparable new model, and yours is already near the end of its expected life, the money is usually better spent on a replacement.

Built-ins are the exception, because replacing one means cabinet or counter work as well. We'll set out both options and you choose.

Storms, outages and food safety

After a long outage, give the refrigerator several hours to get back down to temperature before deciding it's broken. Throw away the first ice it makes and check that the ice maker restarted.

Still not cold by the following morning? Washer or range panel gone dark? Book a visit and include the model. A lightning hit nearby, or the spike as a line comes back, is hard on electronic boards, and replacing one is usually a straightforward job.

Beyond the county line

Our coverage also takes in Hillsborough County (5 areas), Pasco County (4 areas) and Hernando County (1 area). The service-areas page lists each ZIP code we cover, and the ZIP search on this page checks yours.

FAQ

Pinellas County Repair Questions

Short answers to what people usually ask before a visit. Anything not covered can go in the notes when you book.

Didn't see your question?

Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.

Only Clearwater Beach, ZIP 33767. St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Madeira Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Belleair Beach and Tierra Verde are outside our coverage, as are Tarpon Springs and Safety Harbor. Inland, the service-areas page lists every Pinellas ZIP we cover, from St. Petersburg and Gulfport up through Clearwater, Largo, Seminole, Palm Harbor and Oldsmar.

Not for booking; we go by ZIP code. It matters for other things. Lealman is unincorporated, so Pinellas County handles permits there, and your water may come from St. Petersburg or from Pinellas County Utilities depending on the street.

It depends on where you live. St. Petersburg's system serves the city, South Pasadena and parts of Lealman. Gulfport, Clearwater, Dunedin and Oldsmar run their own systems. Pinellas County Utilities serves Largo, Seminole, Kenneth City, Belleair Bluffs and much of the unincorporated county. Your bill names the supplier.

It depends on how the schedule looks across Pinellas County and the areas around it that week. Call us or book online, and pick the visit time that suits your day. If a refrigerator or freezer is failing with food in it, tell us; that changes how we plan.

Not an honest one. One symptom can come from a cheap part or an expensive one, so the technician first finds the cause at your Pinellas County home and then quotes the repair. No work starts until you agree, and if it isn't worth fixing, you'll hear that.

48 brands across Pinellas County: household names such as Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire and Maytag, built-in and pro-style lines like Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Miele and Viking, and commercial makers including True, Hoshizaki and Manitowoc. The full list is on the brands page.
