About us and these terms

TrueFix Tampa is a business name used by TrueFix Tampa (“we”, “us”). We repair appliances on site at homes and businesses in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Hernando counties, Florida. We work independently and are not an authorized service center for any appliance brand. Using this website or booking a repair with us means you accept these terms; if you don't, please don't book through the site.

Booking and the visit

  • Your confirmation includes an arrival window, which is an estimate rather than a promise. Traffic on the interstates and bridges, storms and earlier jobs running long can push it, and we will contact you if it moves.
  • An adult (18 or over) who can authorize the work must be home while the technician is there.
  • Please make sure we can get to the appliance: a clear path into the garage, laundry closet or kitchen, gate or guard-house access, condo or HOA rules about contractors, elevator reservations and parking. Tell us about any of these when you book.
  • Need to cancel or reschedule? The earlier you tell us, the better.
  • A technician can decline to begin, or stop, a job that is unsafe: a smell of gas, standing or flood water, damaged wiring, signs of pests, or an appliance that can't be reached or moved safely.

How a repair is agreed

  1. At your property, the technician diagnoses the appliance and tells you what failed.
  2. You get a quoted price. When fixing it makes little financial sense, we tell you that.
  3. Work begins only after you approve that price. Saying no is entirely up to you.

Sometimes opening an appliance reveals a second fault or a bigger one. When that happens we pause and ask you before going beyond the work you approved.

Parts

  • Each part is matched to the model number on the appliance's rating plate. Where the manufacturer still supplies the part we use theirs; where we fit an equivalent, you are told.
  • Parts that must be ordered are flagged before you approve, with whatever delivery estimate the supplier gives us. Delays at suppliers or carriers are beyond our control.
  • We dispose of replaced parts unless you ask to keep them before the repair begins.

Paying for the work

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, the approved amount is due once the work is finished. Accepted payment methods are confirmed when we schedule the visit.

Warranty

Warranty on our repairs: 90 days on parts and 30 days on labor

Repair warranty coverage is limited to our own labor and the components we supplied. It does not cover separate faults elsewhere in the appliance, misuse, lightning or power surges, flooding, storm damage, or later work by someone else. Appliances still covered by the manufacturer's own warranty should be taken to the manufacturer first; their coverage and ours are independent of each other.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for:

  • wear, corrosion or damage that was already present and is unrelated to our work;
  • spoiled food, medication or other contents lost before we arrived;
  • indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.

These terms do not take away any right you have under Florida or federal consumer protection law that the law does not allow to be waived.

Where we work

Bookings are accepted only for these locations:

  • Hillsborough County: Tampa; Brandon & Valrico; Riverview & Gibsonton; Ruskin & Apollo Beach; Plant City.
  • Pinellas County: St. Petersburg; Clearwater; Largo, Dunedin & Palm Harbor.
  • Pasco County: New Port Richey, Port Richey & Hudson; Wesley Chapel; Zephyrhills & Dade City; Lutz, Land O' Lakes & Odessa.
  • Hernando County: Spring Hill.

Site content

Our guides and articles are general information, not a diagnosis of your particular appliance or a price quote, and they may be revised without notice. Gas connections, live electrical components and sealed refrigerant systems are jobs for a qualified professional. The words and pictures on this site are ours; commercial reuse requires our written permission.

Texts

If you opt in to text updates, our SMS Terms apply as well. You can reply STOP whenever you like to end them.

Florida law and venue

These terms, and any claim connected with them or with a repair we did, are governed by Florida law, setting aside its conflict-of-law rules. Unless the law entitles you to a different forum, disputes are to be heard in the state courts located in Hillsborough County, Florida (the County Court or the Circuit Court of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit), or, if a federal court has jurisdiction, in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa Division.

Changes and questions

These terms can change. For any given job, the version that applies is whichever one was on this page when the booking was made. Questions can go to:
