Avanti Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Avanti is what goes in when a full-size appliance won't fit or isn't needed: a fridge under a bar top, a narrow range in a studio condo, a chest freezer in the garage for storm season. The company is based in South Florida and owned by The Legacy Companies; we have no relationship with either. If yours is young enough to still be covered, Avanti handles that. After coverage ends, we test the unit where it sits and weigh the repair honestly against a new one, because with compact appliances that comparison is tight.

Storm season
An appliance that sat in floodwater stays unplugged until it's inspected. Generators belong outside, well away from doors and windows.
Condos & gated communities
High-rises Downtown or on Bayshore, HOA gates in Westchase or New Tampa: put the gate code, elevator rules or guest parking spot in your notes.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Attic and roof vents
Plenty of slab homes vent the dryer up through the attic to a roof cap. Long runs fill with lint, so airflow gets checked before the heater is blamed.
Garage laundry
A dryer in a hot garage works against the air around it. Let us know where it sits and how the vent leaves the house.

How a Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

Tell us the appliance, its maker and the symptom. A photo of the model plate saves a step.

02

Diagnosis at Home

We test the likely parts on site, along with the power, water or venting the appliance depends on.

03

Quote Before Work

We show you the failed part and give a price for the fix; the work waits for your yes.

04

Repair and Test

After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.

Avanti

Designed by Avanti, assembled elsewhere

Avanti Products is headquartered in South Florida and became part of The Legacy Companies in 2019. Its catalog runs wide: compact refrigerators and freezers, wine and beverage coolers, apartment ranges and cooktops, countertop microwaves and portable laundry. Avanti writes the specifications, and contract factories build to them, with suppliers that can change between production runs.

So the cabinet tells you little. Two identical-looking Avanti fridges may carry different compressors or controls inside. We photograph the rating label first and order from that, never from the look of the box.

Garages, rentals and pool houses

Locally, an Avanti is likely to be found in a rental near USF, a studio in a Westshore or Downtown tower, a pool-house kitchenette, a home office or a garage holding the overflow from the main fridge. Landlords buy the 20- and 24-inch ranges for efficiency units and for older cottages where the kitchen wall is short.

Where the unit lives often matters more than its age. An attached garage in August can run hotter than many compact refrigerators are rated for, and a mini fridge built tight into cabinetry has nowhere to dump its heat. Before blaming a part, we compare the spot with the room-temperature range and clearances printed in the manual.

The repair math on a small appliance

A new compact unit doesn't cost much, so a repair has to be modest to make sense. Thermostats, start relays, fans, gaskets, igniters and drain pumps usually clear that bar. A refrigerant leak or a seized compressor in a mini fridge almost never does, and you'll hear that at the diagnosis rather than after a bill.

Narrow ranges flip the logic. Finding a new 20-inch model whose gas stub or outlet position, depth and cabinet gap all line up with the old one is harder than it sounds, which often makes fixing a tired range the cheaper path.

Avanti appliance lines

  • Refrigerators: Mini, dorm and bar fridges, under-counter beverage units and 24-inch apartment models, plenty of them manual defrost. Thermostats, relays, fans and seals are most of the work.
  • Washers: Portable top-loaders fed from a sink faucet and compact front-loaders sized for a closet. Pumps, lid switches, fill valves, belts and faucet adapters account for most repairs.
  • Dryers: Small front-load dryers that stack on the matching washer. Calls usually involve no heat, long drying, a squealing drum or a door switch.
  • Ovens: The oven half of Avanti apartment ranges, plus small wall ovens. Weak igniters, burned elements, drifting thermostats and sagging doors are what we usually replace.
  • Microwaves: Countertop and compact microwaves for kitchenettes, offices and dorm rooms. No heat, a dead unit after a fuse goes, arcing and a stalled turntable bring most calls.
  • Freezers: Chest freezers and small uprights for garages, laundry rooms and storm-season stock-up. Thermostats, start parts, lid seals and frost problems lead the list.
  • Cooktops: Two- and four-burner gas and electric tops for tight counters. Spark ignition, coil sockets, infinite switches and radiant elements are routine fixes.
  • Wine Coolers: Freestanding and built-in wine and beverage coolers, both thermoelectric and compressor. Warm cabinets, dead fans, bad sensors and sweating glass are typical.
  • Stoves: Avanti stoves as tenants and owners live with them: a burner clicking with no flame, a slow oven, a knob that spins loose or a door that won't sit square.
  • Ranges: 20- and 24-inch gas and electric ranges for narrow kitchens. We replace oven igniters, spark parts, bake and broil elements and oven thermostats.

Avanti parts and sourcing

Avanti keeps a parts department of its own, and everyday items such as thermostats, gaskets, shelves, knobs, elements and igniters are listed for a lot of current models. Since the factory behind a model can change, the right part depends on the full model and serial number, and short-run or older models may have nothing left. We check what exists before quoting, flag any equivalent part before it goes in, and tell you straight when no suitable part can be had.

Avanti visits are booked across Tampa and the wider Tampa Bay area; the list of areas and ZIP codes shows whether your street is covered.

FAQ

Avanti Repair FAQ

A few plain answers before you book. Details about your home or the appliance can go in the form's notes field.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

Sometimes. A thermostat, relay, fan or door seal is a sensible spend. A sealed-system leak or a dead compressor typically runs past the value of the fridge, and we say that when we diagnose it, not after ordering parts.

Yes. Narrow apartment ranges take a beating and change hands with every lease, so loose knobs, tired igniters and burned elements are everyday finds. A tenant can let us in; the owner or manager signs off on the price before work begins.

Check an inside side wall or the ceiling of a fridge or wine cooler. On ranges, pull out the bottom drawer or open the oven and look along the frame. Laundry units keep it on the back panel or around the door. A phone picture sent with your booking helps.
