Ice-O-Matic Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Ice-O-Matic builds commercial ice machines in Denver and belongs to Italy's Ali Group. We aren't affiliated with the company in any way, so if your machine is still within its warranty period, go through Ice-O-Matic's service channels first. Once it's out, we come to your location, find the problem and quote the fix before starting.

Which Ice-O-Matic Appliance Needs Work?
The company behind the machine
Ice-O-Matic designs and builds commercial ice equipment in Denver, Colorado. It came under Ali Group with the Scotsman Industries purchase announced in late 2012, which is why Ice-O-Matic and Scotsman now share an owner while still designing their own machines.
The lineup covers Elevation Series modular and undercounter cubers, Pearl Ice nugget machines, flakers, bins and dispensers. Around Tampa they turn up in bars and restaurants, hotel back-of-house, cafés and smoothie shops, and healthcare and school kitchens.
Heat is the enemy of ice production
An air-cooled ice machine rejects heat into the room around it. In a hot kitchen or a back room with no air conditioning during a Tampa summer, the condenser works harder, freeze cycles run longer and output drops well below the rated figure, even when nothing is broken.
Pile on mineral crust on the evaporator, biofilm in the trough and grease on the condenser, and production sinks further. Following Ice-O-Matic's cleaning procedure with the chemicals it specifies, swapping filters on time and keeping the air path open head off a large share of breakdowns.
Keeping service going
A few bags of ice from the store will carry most places through a short outage. Give us your service hours when booking and we'll schedule around the rush where the problem allows. A machine that only needs cleaning and a restart is usually back in one trip; if something has to be shipped in, you get an estimate of the wait and whether the machine can limp along meanwhile.

Ice-O-Matic parts and sourcing
Parts come from Ice-O-Matic's own distributors and from commercial foodservice suppliers. Pumps, probes, valves, sensors and gear motors are everyday orders. Everything is matched to the serial plate, and you'll know if we're fitting an equivalent rather than the factory part.
Ice-O-Matic visits are booked across Tampa and the wider Tampa Bay area; the list of areas and ZIP codes shows whether your street is covered.

What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.
Didn't see your question?
Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
Scale, slime, a spent water filter or weak water flow are the usual reasons. Clean the machine and change the filter first. If the cubes don't improve, we check the pump, the water-level probe and the thickness sensor.
Yes. Pearl Ice units freeze water inside a chilled cylinder where an auger, driven by a gear motor, scrapes and compacts it. We inspect the gear motor, the auger and its bearings, the water feed, and any scale lining the cylinder.
No less often than the manual specifies, and more often in a hot, busy or greasy kitchen. Mineral buildup and slime lower output and shorten the life of pumps and sensors.
