Frigidaire Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Frigidaire fills a lot of Tampa rentals, starter homes and garages, often as the range that came with the house or the spare freezer next to the water heater. Electrolux has its own warranty service setup and we're not in it, so if the factory coverage is still running, the maker is the right first call. Past that point, a technician comes to you, pins down the fault, and quotes the repair before doing anything.

Condos & gated communities
High-rises Downtown or on Bayshore, HOA gates in Westchase or New Tampa: put the gate code, elevator rules or guest parking spot in your notes.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.
Mostly electric kitchens
Electric and induction cooking outnumber gas around Tampa, though gas ranges exist. Tell us which you have and read us the tag behind the drawer.
Lightning and surges
A nearby strike can take out a control board while the elements are fine. If the failure followed a storm, say so in your booking.

How a Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

Tell us the appliance, its maker and the symptom. A photo of the model plate saves a step.

02

Diagnosis at Home

At your place the technician checks the unit and its outlet, water supply, drain or vent to find the fault.

03

Quote Before Work

We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.

04

Repair and Test

After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.

Frigidaire

From General Motors to Electrolux

The brand began in 1918 and was a General Motors division for roughly sixty years, which is why older folks still call any fridge a frigidaire. In 1979 GM sold it to White Consolidated Industries, and in 1986 Sweden's Electrolux bought White.

Electrolux uses Frigidaire as its everyday American brand, with Gallery and Professional above it. Over the decades, Frigidaire plants also built appliances for other labels, Kenmore among them, so a store-brand fridge or range may be a Frigidaire underneath.

Where Frigidaire shows up around Tampa

Landlords like Frigidaire, so it is everywhere in student rentals near USF, apartments in West Tampa and ranch houses in Town 'n' Country and Brandon. Stacked laundry centers fit hall closets in those units. A Frigidaire upright freezer in the garage is a common sight in family homes, and the brand's Garage Ready models exist precisely because garages here get so hot.

Glass-top electric ranges are the norm in the many all-electric homes across the Tampa Bay area, and gas Frigidaire ranges appear where a house has natural gas service.

What we check before anything else

Side-by-sides that put a door-mounted ice maker in the freezer bring their own quirks, mainly fused ice and frost around the door. A freezer that struggles in a hot garage may simply be outside its rated range. Lightning season produces its share of dead control boards, and we check the supply before blaming the board. Each of these is settled early in the diagnosis.

Weighing repair against a new one

Since a new Frigidaire doesn't cost a fortune, every repair has to earn its keep. Valves, igniters, elements, switches, fans and defrost parts usually do. A sealed-system leak in an old refrigerator, a front-loader with a shot bearing, or a main board on an older range often don't, and you'll hear that from us before any money is spent.

Frigidaire appliance lines

  • Refrigerators: Frigidaire fridges of every layout, from plain top-freezers up to Gallery and Professional French-doors. Ice makers in the freezer door, defrost trouble, fans and fill valves are what we fix most.
  • Washers: Top-load and front-load washers and stacked laundry centers in apartments and closets. Lid switches, locks, pumps, springs and bearings are where the wear shows up.
  • Dryers: Gas or electric Frigidaire dryers, including the upper unit of a laundry center. Most calls trace to a blown fuse, an igniter or valve coil, a heater, a belt or worn drum rollers.
  • Dishwashers: Under-counter Frigidaire and Gallery dishwashers that trap food in a lift-out filter. Pumps, fill valves, latches, motors and boards make up most of the work.
  • Ovens: Frigidaire wall ovens, one or two cavities, many with convection or air fry. Elements, probes, convection motors and the self-clean latch are the parts that wear out.
  • Microwaves: Over-the-range, countertop and built-in Frigidaire microwaves. Cold food, scorched door switches, rattling blowers, a turntable that won't turn and unresponsive buttons are the usual complaints.
  • Freezers: Upright and chest freezers, frost-free and manual defrost, including Garage Ready and all-freezer column models. Most fixes involve defrost components, a start relay, a fan or a seal.
  • Cooktops: Frigidaire gas, radiant and induction cooktops. We replace knob spark switches, radiant elements, infinite switches and induction boards, and swap out broken glass.
  • Stoves: Freestanding Frigidaire stoves in gas, coil and smooth-top electric. Weak igniters, open bake elements, burned coil sockets and failed switches are the usual repairs.
  • Ranges: Gallery and Professional ranges in front-control, slide-in and air fry versions. Keypads, oven probes, convection motors, gas igniters and induction modules make up the workload.

Frigidaire parts and sourcing

With so many Frigidaires in service, parts are plentiful, and Electrolux pushes them through a wide distributor network. Igniters, valves, elements and defrost components are almost always on hand somewhere. The trouble spots are older Gallery control boards and some retired dispenser and ice maker assemblies, a few of which now come only as updated kits. Every quote starts with a lookup on your full model number, and we'll flag any non-original part.

Frigidaire Repair FAQ

What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

Sweden's Electrolux Group, since 1986. In the United States, Frigidaire is the company's mainstream label, sold next to Electrolux-branded appliances.

Could be. Lots of Kenmore appliances came off Frigidaire assembly lines. The first digits of a Kenmore model number identify who built it, and we order parts under that manufacturer's numbers.

A Garage Ready model can; Frigidaire's spec sheets for those list operation up to 110°F. Other models are built for indoor rooms and may struggle in summer garage heat. Check your manual, or send us the model number to look up.

Go through Frigidaire while that coverage lasts; we're not in the Electrolux service program. When the warranty is over, call or book online.
