AGA Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Swedish engineer Gustaf Dalén designed the AGA cooker in the 1920s, and for decades the cookers have been built in Telford, Shropshire. The brand is part of AGA Rangemaster Group, which Middleby Corporation bought in 2015; in early 2026 the investment firm 26North took a majority stake in that residential kitchen business, AGA included, which now operates as Composition Brands with Middleby keeping a minority share. The badge covers two quite different machines, the cast-iron heat-storage cooker and the conventional range cooker. We repair both, independently of AGA. If the maker's warranty still covers yours, AGA comes first.

Storm season
An appliance that sat in floodwater stays unplugged until it's inspected. Generators belong outside, well away from doors and windows.
Condos & gated communities
High-rises Downtown or on Bayshore, HOA gates in Westchase or New Tampa: put the gate code, elevator rules or guest parking spot in your notes.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Hot garages
A second fridge or chest freezer in a summer garage may cycle nonstop and still run warm. Compare the garage to the ambient range in the owner's manual before calling it broken.
Sweating doors
Muggy air shows up as beads on the door edge and wet gaskets. A tired seal, or an energy-saver setting that switches off the door heaters, is often behind it.

How a Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us the Symptom

Tell us the appliance, its maker and the symptom. A photo of the model plate saves a step.

02

In-Home Testing

We test the likely parts on site, along with the power, water or venting the appliance depends on.

03

A Price You Approve

We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.

04

Fix and Check

After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.

An always-warm cooker in a hot climate

A classic AGA stores heat in a large mass of cast iron and gives some of it off to the room all day. In northern Europe that is part of the appeal. In a Tampa kitchen from May to October, it means the air conditioning carries extra load, and many owners turn the cooker down or switch parts of it off for the summer where the model allows.

Newer electric versions, such as the Total Control, were designed partly for that: sections can be switched on and off as needed. They carry more elements, relays and electronics than the older always-on cookers, which shifts what tends to fail.

Range cookers are a different machine

AGA-branded range cookers look traditional but work like a European range: gas or induction on top, a fan oven, a conventional oven and a grill below. Their faults are igniters, flame-failure devices, fan elements and thermostats.

When you book, tell us which kind you have. A photo of the whole front helps, because the two need different tools and a different visit plan.

Letting it cool first

Because the cast iron stores so much heat, a heat-storage AGA must be switched off many hours ahead of any internal repair. We set the timing with you beforehand, so it has cooled by the time we arrive and your kitchen is without it for as short a stretch as possible.

Where the parts come from

A lot of AGA parts originate in the UK. Burners, elements and thermostats for current cookers can generally be found, while castings, lids and controls for older models may take time or be discontinued. We read the data plate and confirm the part before ordering, and give you an honest sense of the wait.

AGA appliance lines

  • Ovens: Roasting, baking and simmering ovens on heat-storage cookers, and the fan and conventional ovens on range cookers. Elements, thermostats, fans, hinges and door catches.
  • Cooktops: Boiling and simmering hotplates under insulated lids on heat-storage models, and gas or induction hobs on range cookers. Slow recovery, ignition faults and induction errors.
  • Stoves: The AGA treated as one cooker, which is how owners live with it: a whole unit that has lost heat, a gas burner that soots or drops out, or electric elements that have weakened.
  • Ranges: AGA range cookers in gas, dual-fuel and induction with multiple ovens. Fan oven elements, convection motors, spark ignition, flame-failure devices, thermostats and door glass.

AGA parts and sourcing

AGA parts come into the US through the brand's North American distributor, and many start out in the UK. For cookers still in production, burners, elements, thermostats and igniters can usually be found. For older cookers, castings, hotplate lids and controls may be slow to arrive or out of production. We read the data plate during the diagnosis, fit genuine AGA parts where they are made, and tell you if an equivalent is the only choice.

FAQ

AGA Repair FAQ

Short answers to what people usually ask before a visit. Anything not covered can go in the notes when you book.

Didn't see your question?

Send us the make, the model tag and what the appliance is doing. Some problems can be narrowed down before anyone drives over; most need hands on the machine.

On a traditional heat-storage AGA, yes: it is designed to stay warm so cooking can start at any moment. Controllable models can run lower or switch sections off. If the entire cooker has cooled off compared to normal, something in the heat source needs a look.

All that cast iron holds heat for hours, and many of the parts we'd touch sit against it. Opening a hot cooker risks burns and damaged components. We'll tell you when to switch it off so it's cool when we get there.

Yes. They're closer to a standard European range, with burners, fan ovens and electronic or thermostatic controls, and we diagnose them that way.

Often, since the core design stayed similar for a long time. Whether a particular part still exists depends on the model. We check availability before quoting and say so if something essential has gone out of production.
