La Cornue Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
La Cornue builds its ranges in a workshop outside Paris, and each Château is made to order, so no two are quite alike inside. We are an independent repair company with no tie to La Cornue, its U.S. distribution or its service network. If your range is still inside the maker's warranty, start with La Cornue. Once it isn't, we look at it in your kitchen, explain the fault and price the repair before any work begins.

Which La Cornue Appliance Needs Work?
What makes the vaulted oven different
Albert Dupuy patented the vaulted oven in 1908. The arched roof of the cavity lets hot air roll up and over the food on its own, which is why so many La Cornue ovens get by without a convection fan. The Château line followed in the 1960s and is still assembled by hand in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, northwest of Paris. CornuFé brings the same oven shape to standard widths, with far fewer choices to make.
Ownership has changed twice in the last decade. Middleby took over La Cornue in 2015 when it bought the AGA Rangemaster group. Then, early in 2026, the investment firm 26North bought majority control of Middleby's home-appliance division and renamed it Composition Brands; Middleby kept a minority share.
Before anyone pulls the range out
A Château is far heavier than an ordinary range and often sits under a custom hood, boxed in by stone or tile. Burner valves, thermocouples, igniters and knobs come out from the top, and most oven work is done through the door or a front panel, so the range rarely has to move.
When it does have to come forward, we plan for extra people, protect the floor and check the gas connection before it goes back. Plenty of homes around Tampa are all-electric, so mention at booking which kind you have (gas, electric or dual-fuel); the rating plate settles it if you aren't sure.
Parts, lead times and the case for repair
Igniters, thermocouples, thermostats, knobs and gaskets are the routine orders and can usually be had through the brand's U.S. distribution. Trim in a particular metal, enamel pieces or parts for an unusual Château layout may have to come from France, and that can add weeks. You hear the expected wait before you approve anything.
Replacing a made-to-order range means a long build time and often reworking the cabinetry around it, so a Château is nearly always worth fixing. CornuFé is a closer call on a major failure, and we say so plainly when it is.
La Cornue appliance lines
- Ovens: The vaulted oven cavities of Château and CornuFé ranges, gas or electric. Drifting thermostats, weak thermocouples, sagging door hinges and tired gaskets account for most visits.
- Cooktops: Standalone rangetops and the burner section of La Cornue ranges, including the cast French top. Calls involve burners that won't stay lit, silent igniters, clogged ports and stiff valves.
- Stoves: Freestanding La Cornue stoves, Château or CornuFé, usually repaired where they stand. Thermocouples, spark ignition, oven thermostats and knob stems come up most.
- Ranges: Gas, electric and dual-fuel Château and CornuFé ranges. Flame-safety faults, ignition, oven temperature control and electric elements are the usual repairs.
La Cornue parts and sourcing
We order La Cornue parts by the model and serial number on the rating plate, through the brand's American distribution. Thermocouples, igniters, knobs, thermostats and door gaskets are the common items. Enamel trim, finish-specific hardware and parts for custom Château layouts may ship from France and take weeks. The expected wait is part of the quote.
La Cornue visits are booked across Tampa and the wider Tampa Bay area; the list of areas and ZIP codes shows whether your street is covered.

Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
Composition Brands, the residential kitchen company that 26North and Middleby now own together after 26North took a controlling stake in 2026. Château ranges are still built in France.
On burners with flame-failure protection, yes. Pressing the knob keeps gas flowing until the thermocouple beside the flame warms up and holds the valve open by itself. If the burner dies the moment you let go after a fair wait, the thermocouple is likely dirty, weak or bent away from the flame.
Usually. Most faults are small parts on a heavy, long-lived chassis. The real question on an older range is whether parts can still be had, which we check against the serial number before quoting.
