Dacor Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

For half a century Dacor was a California family company; Samsung bought it in 2016. That leaves two generations of Dacor in local kitchens, the units the original company designed and the later ones that run on Samsung platforms, and we repair both independently of Dacor and Samsung service. While the maker's warranty still applies, Dacor is the first call. After that, two questions matter: what failed, and is the part still made. On pre-Samsung equipment, we answer the second one honestly before ordering anything.

Storm season
An appliance that sat in floodwater stays unplugged until it's inspected. Generators belong outside, well away from doors and windows.
Condos & gated communities
High-rises Downtown or on Bayshore, HOA gates in Westchase or New Tampa: put the gate code, elevator rules or guest parking spot in your notes.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Attic and roof vents
Plenty of slab homes vent the dryer up through the attic to a roof cap. Long runs fill with lint, so airflow gets checked before the heater is blamed.
Garage laundry
A dryer in a hot garage works against the air around it. Let us know where it sits and how the vent leaves the house.

Dacor

Which Dacor do you have?

Founded in 1965 and run by three generations of the Joseph family, Dacor made its name with wall ovens using its own convection system and gas cooktops with illuminated knobs. Its Discovery iQ ovens went further and put an Android-powered touchscreen on the oven. Samsung announced the purchase in August 2016 and rebuilt much of the line around its own refrigeration, dishwashers and connected controls.

A Dacor double oven from 2008 and one from 2022 may have nothing in common but the logo. The serial label tells us the generation, and the generation decides where parts come from and whether they still exist.

Storms, surges and the control board

Dacor ovens and ranges rely on electronic controls, relay boards, temperature probes and, on some models, a full touchscreen. Summer lightning and the power flickers after a storm are rough on that kind of hardware, and a control that went black after a storm is one of the more common reasons Tampa owners call. Still, the board isn't automatically guilty. Supply voltage, wiring, fuses and sensors get checked first, because replacing a costly board when the fault is elsewhere wastes money.

A plug-strip surge protector does nothing for a hardwired oven. If storms keep killing electronics in your house, ask an electrician about a whole-home surge device at the panel.

Sized to the cabinet

Dacor was a favorite for high-end remodels, so we meet it in larger homes in South Tampa, on Davis Islands and in Avila, and in condos along Bayshore and Downtown. Many of those kitchens went in before Samsung, which means stacked wall ovens and gas cooktops with a lot of years on them.

Built-ins are fitted to their openings. Changing a double wall oven or a column refrigerator to another brand can force new cabinetry, and that cost is often what makes repair the better choice.

Dacor appliance lines

  • Refrigerators: Integrated refrigerator and freezer columns and built-in French-door models. Zone sensors, evaporator fans, ice makers, water valves and defrost faults are frequent work.
  • Dishwashers: Stainless and panel-ready 24-inch models, mostly from the Samsung era. Typical work: pumps, leak sensors, door springs and water fill faults.
  • Ovens: Single and double convection wall ovens, speed ovens and steam ovens. Convection fans, concealed elements, probes, hinges and control boards are typical repairs.
  • Microwaves: Built-in microwaves, speed ovens and microwave drawers. No heat, stuck drawers, door switch faults and dead controls bring most calls.
  • Cooktops: Gas tops with lit knobs and high-output burners, plus induction and radiant tops. Ignition, spark modules, knob lighting and induction boards are common calls.
  • Wine Coolers: Undercounter wine units and full-height multi-zone wine columns. Sensors, fans, control boards, door gaskets and cooling faults are our usual repairs.
  • Stoves: A Dacor stove in daily use: a burner that won't light, an oven that overshoots, a control that freezes or knob lights gone dark.
  • Ranges: Pro-style gas, dual-fuel and induction ranges from 30 to 48 inches. Igniters, burner valves, convection fans, oven elements and control boards are regular repairs.

Dacor parts and sourcing

Samsung-era Dacor parts come through Samsung's own distribution and are usually easy to get. For the older, pre-2016 equipment, everyday wear items, igniters and elements and fan motors and gaskets, can often still be bought, but certain boards, touch panels and trim have been discontinued. Parts are chosen from the model and serial number, and you'll hear from us first if an equivalent is going in or if something essential is no longer made.

Dacor visits are booked across Tampa and the wider Tampa Bay area; the list of areas and ZIP codes shows whether your street is covered.

FAQ

Dacor Repair FAQ

A few plain answers before you book. Details about your home or the appliance can go in the form's notes field.

Didn't see your question?

Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.

Often. Elements, igniters, fans, sensors and door hardware are frequently still around. Control boards and touchscreens are where some older models run out of options. We diagnose first and confirm the part exists before you commit.

Samsung, since 2016. Recent Dacor refrigeration, dishwashers and wall ovens are engineered alongside Samsung's own products, but plenty of Dacor still cooking locally predates the sale. Which one you own changes the parts list.

While the maker's warranty runs, go to Dacor so the repair is covered. Once it lapses, choose whoever you like. We're an independent company: we diagnose in your kitchen and you get a price before anything is done.
