TrueFix Tampa

Appliance Service for Tampa Houses, Condos and Rentals

Garage laundry pairs, condo dishwashers, bungalow kitchens and the second fridge out by the water heater: we repair them where they're installed, for homeowners, renters, landlords and small businesses across Pasco County. The technician finds the fault on the spot and quotes it; nothing is fixed without your sign-off. Choose your area below to see its ZIP list and the communities it includes.

Condos & gated communities
High-rises Downtown or on Bayshore, HOA gates in Westchase or New Tampa: put the gate code, elevator rules or guest parking spot in your notes.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.
Mostly electric kitchens
Electric and induction cooking outnumber gas around Tampa, though gas ranges exist. Tell us which you have and read us the tag behind the drawer.
Lightning and surges
A nearby strike can take out a control board while the elements are fine. If the failure followed a storm, say so in your booking.

Appliance Repair Notes for Pasco County

Our Pasco County coverage is 4 service areas and 22 ZIP codes: the Gulf side around New Port Richey, Port Richey and Hudson; the master-planned growth of Wesley Chapel; Zephyrhills, Dade City and the rural land around them; and Lutz, Land O' Lakes and Odessa, an area that runs straight across the county line into Hillsborough. The 34610 ZIP, with Spring Hill mail, is listed on our Hernando County page. Every visit starts with a diagnosis in your home, and you approve the price before any work.

Pasco stretches from a low, marshy Gulf coast to sandy hills in the east. On the west side, canal neighborhoods such as Gulf Harbors and the coast around Hudson sit close to sea level, and the US 19 corridor behind them filled with block homes and manufactured-home parks from the 1960s through the '80s. The middle of the county, along State Roads 54 and 56, is where most of the new growth went: Trinity, Land O' Lakes, Connerton, Starkey Ranch and Wesley Chapel. East of I-75 the land opens into pasture and lakes around Zephyrhills and Dade City, crossed by the Hillsborough River and Cypress Creek.

Homes here sit on concrete slabs, so the washer and dryer live in the garage, a utility room, an upstairs laundry or a closet. Kitchens are overwhelmingly electric, with propane on some rural lots. Power comes from Duke Energy Florida, Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative or Tampa Electric depending on the street, and water from Pasco County Utilities, a city system or a private well. New Port Richey, Port Richey, Zephyrhills and Dade City are the cities in our coverage; Wesley Chapel, Land O' Lakes, Hudson and the rest are unincorporated.

Our service areas

New Port Richey, Port Richey & Hudson (7 ZIP codes): Port Richey canals, New Port Richey block homes, Hudson park homes and Trinity subdivisions. Two cities & Pasco County; block homes, parks & canal houses.

Wesley Chapel (3 ZIP codes): Wesley Chapel master plans from Meadow Pointe and Seven Oaks to Epperson and Watergrass. Unincorporated Pasco; 1990s-on master plans.

Zephyrhills & Dade City (4 ZIP codes): Zephyrhills 55-plus parks, Dade City's older streets and rural east Pasco acreage. Two cities, rural Pasco; manufactured homes to farmhouses.

Lutz, Land O' Lakes & Odessa (8 ZIP codes): Lutz lake homes, Land O' Lakes master plans and Odessa on both sides of the county line. Unincorporated, two counties; lake acreage to new master plans.

Canal houses, park homes and two-story master plans

Along the coast and the US 19 corridor, we work in single-story block houses and manufactured homes, many of them decades old, where the appliances have been replaced more than once and the hookups have not. A home near the water may also have taken on Helene's surge, so we ask about that first. Around Zephyrhills, the 55-plus parks bring compact kitchens, laundry closets and seasonal owners who leave a house closed for the summer.

The center of the county is newer. In Wesley Chapel, Land O' Lakes, Connerton and Starkey Ranch, most homes date from 2000 on, many two-story with an upstairs laundry, an attic dryer vent and HOA rules about vehicles and gates. Their builder appliances are now reaching their first serious failures. On the rural edges of Lutz, Odessa and Dade City, add wells, septic systems and a freezer out in the barn.

Helene's surge on the coast, Milton's rain inland

Helene passed offshore on September 26, 2024, and pushed the Gulf into west Pasco. The New Port Richey gauge measured 5.04 feet above the normal high-tide line before it stopped reporting, and the National Weather Service estimated 2 to 5 feet along the rest of the coast. Gulf Harbors was among the hardest-hit neighborhoods, with many rescues overnight, and residents said the water ran well above Idalia's in 2023. Inland Pasco saw wind and a little rain, not surge.

Milton, two weeks later, flipped that pattern. Its surge on the Pasco coast was a foot or less, and the water briefly ran out below normal. The damage came from wind, gusting to 59 mph near Zephyrhills, and from 8 to 12 inches of rain, with nearly 15 inches near Dade City. The Anclote River, Cypress Creek and the Hillsborough River below Zephyrhills flooded neighborhoods for days, and tens of thousands of Duke, WREC and Tampa Electric customers lost power.

Dryer vents and slow drying

A quick test: run the dryer on high for ten minutes and feel the outside hood or roof cap. A strong, warm stream is good. A weak puff means something along the run is blocked.

In this humidity, lint clings to the inside of a long duct and builds faster than people think. A clogged vent is a fire hazard as well as a waste of power, so a full cleaning every so often pays for itself.

Leaks, hoses and hard water

Most appliance water damage in Pasco County starts at a connection rather than inside the machine: a rubber washer hose that finally split, an ice-maker line pinched when the refrigerator was pushed back, or a dishwasher drain loop that slipped.

Steel-braided fill hoses cost little, and so does a quarter-turn valve placed where a hand can reach it. Add a catch pan with a drain under any second-floor washer. When you spot water, close the valve first, pull the plug second, and only then go looking for the source.

Humidity, mildew and front-load washers

Humidity works on refrigerators, too. Door gaskets sweat, the cabinet's edges bead with water, and a seal that doesn't close fully lets damp air in to frost the freezer and load the defrost system.

Check a seal by closing the door on a sheet of paper; if it slides out without resistance, the gasket isn't sealing there. A dishwasher that leaves everything wet is a related story, since rinse aid and the heated-dry setting matter more in muggy kitchens.

FAQ

Pasco County Repair Questions

A few plain answers before you book. Details about your home or the appliance can go in the form's notes field.

Didn't see your question?

Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.

No. We cover New Port Richey, Port Richey and Hudson; Wesley Chapel; Zephyrhills and Dade City; and Lutz, Land O' Lakes and Odessa, by the ZIP codes listed on each area page. Holiday, San Antonio, St. Leo and the far north of the county, including the 33523 ZIP north of Dade City, are outside our map.

It depends on the street. Duke Energy Florida, Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative and Tampa Electric all serve parts of the county. Water comes from Pasco County Utilities, the city systems of New Port Richey, Port Richey, Zephyrhills or Dade City, a few smaller providers, or a private well. Your bills tell you which, and it helps us to know when you book.

Not until it has been inspected. Salt water from Helene's surge corrodes wiring and controls long after it dries, and Milton's floodwater left grit in pumps and valves. Keep the appliance unplugged, tell us what kind of water it stood in and how deep, and we'll tell you honestly whether it's worth repairing.

48 brands across Pasco County: household names such as Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire and Maytag, built-in and pro-style lines like Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Miele and Viking, and commercial makers including True, Hoshizaki and Manitowoc. The full list is on the brands page.

Yes, that's routine in Pasco County. A tenant opens the door, the owner or manager okays the quote remotely, and each of them receives the same brief write-up afterward. Buildings that want contractor paperwork on file should be named at booking so it's sorted beforehand.

Brand, model, what it's doing wrong, and any code copied character for character. Better yet, snap the sticker with the model and serial on it; nothing else does as much to get the right part to your Pasco County door the first time.
