Smeg Range Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Smeg has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your range is still under Smeg's factory warranty, start with Smeg. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Mostly electric kitchens
Electric and induction cooking outnumber gas around Tampa, though gas ranges exist. Tell us which you have and read us the tag behind the drawer.
Condo kitchens
Recirculating range hoods and induction tops are common in towers. Add the building's contractor hours and elevator rules to your notes.
Something mounted above?
If a microwave or hood hangs over the cooking surface, mention it. It changes the working room, and an over-the-range unit comes off its wall plate for most repairs.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.
Homes closed for months
Back after a season away? Run water through the lines and give the fridge a day before judging it, and tell us how long the house sat closed.

How a Range Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

The model tag (often behind the drawer or on the frame) and what it does or doesn't do when you turn it on.

02

Diagnosis at Home

We test elements or igniters, the temperature sensor and the controls, and check the supply at the outlet or gas valve.

03

Quote Before Work

We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.

04

Repair and Test

With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.

Smeg range design and construction

A lot of Smeg ranges are dual-fuel, with gas burners above an electric oven, though all-gas and induction models are sold too. Two fuels means two families of faults. Up top: thermocouples, electrodes and valves. Below: elements, temperature probes and fans. Most of these ranges run a cooling fan whenever the oven is hot, and if it stops, the oven may switch itself off as a safeguard. The bigger models have heavy doors that eventually loosen their hinges. After a hurricane outage, an oven whose display or controls act strangely once power returns gets its board and wiring checked before anything is replaced. Any time the range comes forward, we look at the gas connector and the anti-tip bracket.

Common Smeg range failures

  • Thermocouple not holding the burner
  • Oven element open
  • Cooling fan failed, oven shutting down
  • Convection fan noisy
  • Oven door hinge worn

FAQ

Smeg Range Repair FAQ

Short answers to what people usually ask before a visit. Anything not covered can go in the notes when you book.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

It has two systems, gas on top and electric below, so there is more that can fail. Each side is repaired with standard methods.

If the cooling fan stops, overheating protection can shut the oven off. A failed sensor or control can do it too, and we test both.
