Inside an Avanti range
Avanti's 20- and 24-inch ranges exist for kitchens that can't take a 30-inch unit, and they share a plain layout. Gas models have spark-lit sealed burners up top and a hot-surface igniter for the oven burner, and some tuck a broiler drawer underneath. Electric models put coil or smooth-top elements above a bake-and-broil oven. Controls are kept simple, usually a mechanical thermostat and infinite switches rather than a touch panel, and that's good news for repair: most faults come down to one part that reads wrong on a meter. What ends the conversation is the body. Once rust eats through the oven floor or liner, we recommend replacing.
