Hotpoint Range Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Hotpoint has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your range is still under Hotpoint's factory warranty, start with Hotpoint. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Hard-to-light burners
Boil-overs and humid air keep igniters damp and clicking. Dry the burner caps fully before booking; if it still won't light, we'll test the switch and igniter.
Self-clean trouble
A self-clean cycle can blow a thermal fuse or lock the door. If the oven died right after one, say so; it narrows the fault.
Lightning and surges
A nearby strike can take out a control board while the elements are fine. If the failure followed a storm, say so in your booking.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.

Inside a Hotpoint range

Hotpoint's range lineup is mostly smooth-top electric models, a few basic gas ranges, and controls that offer little beyond a clock, bake, broil and a timer. If one ring on the glass refuses to warm, the fault is almost always that ring's element or the infinite switch behind its knob. Electric ovens on these ranges typically fail at the lower element, the oven probe or a relay on the control board; gas versions mostly go through igniters. The boards are plain and many are shared with GE models, which keeps parts reachable. Lightning is common through a Tampa summer, so if the display goes blank after a storm, try the breaker before assuming the board is gone. When we move a range, we confirm the anti-tip bracket is installed.

Common Hotpoint range failures

  • Radiant ring element failed
  • Infinite switch fault
  • Oven probe out of range
  • Control board relay failed
  • Gas oven igniter weak

FAQ

Hotpoint Range Repair FAQ

What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.

No. Each ring has its own element and switch, and only the one that tested bad gets replaced.

Possibly, but check the breaker first, and switch it off and on to reset the control. If it stays dark, we test the supply, the wiring and any fuse before deciding on the board, and you get a price before ordering anything.
