Viking Range Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Viking has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your range is still under Viking's factory warranty, start with Viking. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Viking range design and construction
Viking ranges come in all-gas and dual-fuel versions, and the oven side decides the repair path. In an all-gas oven, lighting depends on a glow-bar igniter wired to a safety valve, so a slow-to-light oven usually means a tired igniter. A dual-fuel model puts an electric oven under gas burners, so the oven work involves elements, relays and an electronic board instead. Many add convection, and some an infrared broiler. The widest models have two ovens that fail independently of each other. The doors are heavy, and worn hinges let a door hang slightly open, pushing heat up into the knobs and the cabinets beside the range.
Common Viking range failures
- Igniter current too low to open the valve
- Bake element open on a dual-fuel oven
- Convection fan motor stalled
- Infrared broiler failing to light
- Oven door hinges worn

Didn't see your question?
Send us the make, the model tag and what the appliance is doing. Some problems can be narrowed down before anyone drives over; most need hands on the machine.
On a dual-fuel range the oven is electric even though the cooktop burns gas. We test its heating elements, temperature sensor, relays and control; the burners are a separate system and do not affect it.
That broiler has an igniter and valve of its own, separate from the bake burner. When it stays dark, the igniter is usually too weak or the valve is not opening, and a cracked ceramic face can also spoil the flame. Each piece is tested in turn.
