True Residential Refrigerator Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

True Residential has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your refrigerator is still under True Residential's factory warranty, start with True Residential. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Hard-water ice
Scale narrows the fill valve and clouds the ice over time. Note when the water filter was last changed; it changes what we check first.
Storm prep
Before a storm, turn the freezer to its coldest setting and keep the doors shut. A full freezer holds about two days without power.
Sweating doors
Muggy air shows up as beads on the door edge and wet gaskets. A tired seal, or an energy-saver setting that switches off the door heaters, is often behind it.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.

How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works

01

Describe the Problem

Tell us which section is warm, whether you hear the fan or compressor, and what the model tag says.

02

Diagnosis at Home

At your home the technician checks airflow, the condenser, the defrost circuit and the controls in turn.

03

Quote Before Work

We show you the failed part and give a price for the fix; the work waits for your yes.

04

Repair and Test

After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.

True Residential refrigerator design and construction

Inside a True reach-in or prep table, the layout is simple: a condensing unit with a fan-cooled coil, an evaporator coil in the cabinet, and a controller that schedules defrost. Warm-cabinet complaints mostly begin at the condenser. Grease and lint coat the fins, the system can't reject heat, and the compressor runs longer while losing ground; a cook line that is already sweltering only adds to it. After the condenser come the evaporator fan, the controller and its probe, and the door seal. Prep tables also get the rail checked, since those top pans depend on cabinet air being pushed up and over them. Home undercounter models work on the same principles, with a front grille that must stay unobstructed. Warm product, in other words, does not automatically mean low refrigerant.

Common True Residential refrigerator failures

  • Warm cabinet from a greasy condenser coil
  • Evaporator fan motor not running
  • Prep table rail pans running warm
  • Door gasket torn or pulled loose
  • Controller or probe reading wrong

FAQ

True Residential Refrigerator Repair FAQ

What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Send us the make, the model tag and what the appliance is doing. Some problems can be narrowed down before anyone drives over; most need hands on the machine.

The rail is cooled by cabinet air. A lid left open, overfilled pans or a blocked air path will warm it, and so will a fan problem. We check airflow and the fan first.

Follow True's guidance for your model, and clean more often in kitchens with fryers or flour in the air. A dirty coil is among the most common reasons a reach-in runs warm.
