Sub-Zero Refrigerator Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Sub-Zero has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your refrigerator is still under Sub-Zero's factory warranty, start with Sub-Zero. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works
Tell Us the Symptom
Note the temperatures if you have a thermometer, any frost or puddles, and the model number from inside the door.
In-Home Testing
We read coil and cabinet temperatures, check both fans and test the defrost parts before naming the fault.
A Price You Approve
We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.
Fix and Check
After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.
Sub-Zero refrigerator design and construction
Dual refrigeration means a warm fresh-food side beside a solid freezer narrows the problem to one circuit. We work through it in order: how loaded the condenser is behind the top grille, whether the condenser fan turns, whether the fresh-food evaporator fan runs, and whether that coil has iced over because a defrost part quit. Tall panel-ready doors are heavy, and once the closer cam at the hinge wears, the door stops pulling itself shut; in a humid kitchen that small gap frosts the coil quickly. Dispenser and ice models add a water valve and filter head that can drip inside the machine compartment. A sealed-system leak is possible, but it gets confirmed with gauges, never assumed.
Common Sub-Zero refrigerator failures
- Condenser coated with grease and dust
- Fresh-food evaporator fan stopped
- Coil frozen solid after a defrost fault
- Worn door closer leaving the door ajar
- Water valve dripping behind the grille

Didn't see your question?
Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
Each side has its own sealed system, so the search stays on the fresh-food circuit: a dead evaporator fan, a coil iced over after a defrost failure, or a condenser so dirty that its compressor falls behind. We test that circuit instead of the whole unit.
Yes. The closer mechanism at the hinge wears out, particularly under heavy wood panels. Replacing the closer or hinge part and realigning the door restores an even seal along the gasket.
