Roper Refrigerator Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Roper has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your refrigerator is still under Roper's factory warranty, start with Roper. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Sweating doors
Muggy air shows up as beads on the door edge and wet gaskets. A tired seal, or an energy-saver setting that switches off the door heaters, is often behind it.
Hard-water ice
Scale narrows the fill valve and clouds the ice over time. Note when the water filter was last changed; it changes what we check first.
Storm prep
Before a storm, turn the freezer to its coldest setting and keep the doors shut. A full freezer holds about two days without power.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.
Homes closed for months
Back after a season away? Run water through the lines and give the fridge a day before judging it, and tell us how long the house sat closed.
Storm season
An appliance that sat in floodwater stays unplugged until it's inspected. Generators belong outside, well away from doors and windows.

How a Refrigerator Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

The brand, the model tag inside the fresh-food side, and whether the problem is cooling, ice, water or noise.

02

Find the Fault

At your home the technician checks airflow, the condenser, the defrost circuit and the controls in turn.

03

Your Go-Ahead

We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.

04

Fixed and Verified

We install the part matched to your model, then run it to make sure the problem is gone.

Inside a Roper refrigerator

Most Roper refrigerators are top-freezer models with a single evaporator behind the freezer wall. A fan pulls air across it and sends some of that cold air down through a damper into the fresh-food side. So when the lower section warms while the freezer still feels cold, the usual cause is frost choking the evaporator: a failed defrost heater, thermostat or timer. A stopped evaporator fan does the same thing. Condenser coils underneath collect dust and pet hair, and a refrigerator that lives in a hot garage has to work much harder to shed heat. Water under the crisper tends to mean a frozen or blocked defrost drain. On an older, low-cost unit, a sealed-system failure is often not worth repairing.

Common Roper refrigerator failures

  • Fresh-food section warm, freezer still cold
  • Defrost heater or thermostat open
  • Evaporator fan noisy or stalled
  • Start relay not kicking the compressor on
  • Defrost drain blocked, water under the crisper

Problems that aren't peculiar to Roper are explained on the refrigerator repair page. Not sure we reach your street? The Tampa-area service map lists every ZIP code.

FAQ

Roper Refrigerator Repair FAQ

The questions we hear most often about this kind of repair. If yours isn't here, add it to your booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

Frost has probably cut off the airflow from the freezer, which points to a defrost fault, or the evaporator fan has stopped. We test the defrost parts and the fan first.

Check the ambient temperature range in the owner's manual. A garage that stays very hot through the summer makes any refrigerator run longer and can keep it from holding temperature.
