The compressor and condenser live at the top or the base behind a grille, and the system only works as well as that grille breathes and those coils stay clean. Heavy door panels slowly wear the hinges and closers, and once a door stops pulling itself shut, humid air slips in and the coil loads with frost. Columns run their own control boards and ice makers with water lines routed through the cabinet. When one warms up, we look at condenser airflow and the evaporator fan, then defrost, and only then the sealed system.
