Dacor's current refrigeration is Samsung-era built-in equipment: refrigerator, freezer and wine columns that can be ganged side by side, plus built-in French-door units. Everything is frost-free, with thermistors in each zone reporting to an electronic control, and many columns carry their own evaporator so each holds its own temperature. The failures are the usual frost-free suspects: a coil buried in ice after a defrost heater or sensor quits, a fan that stops, an ice maker with a frozen fill tube or tired water valve, a door that stops sealing once its hinge adjustment drifts. Columns sit flush with the cabinets, so a clean grille and a level cabinet matter more than usual.
