JennAir Cooktop Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
JennAir has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your cooktop is still under JennAir's factory warranty, start with JennAir. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

JennAir cooktop design and construction
With a JennAir downdraft cooktop, cooking fumes travel down instead of up: through a slotted vent beside or behind the burners, through a removable grease filter, past a blower in the cabinet below, then out a duct to the exterior. When smoke starts rising past the vent, work down that path in order: filter, blower, duct, wall or slab exit. Some models use a pop-up vent that lifts out of the countertop on a small motor and stops at positions set by limit switches. The cooking side depends on the fuel. Gas tops have spark electrodes, radiant tops have ribbon elements and their switches under the glass, and induction tops have power boards cooled by a fan. On all of them, years of grease slowly coat blowers, filters and knob switches.
Common JennAir cooktop failures
- Downdraft blower losing strength
- Grease filter clogged
- Pop-up vent lift motor stalled
- Spark ignition fault
- Radiant element or induction board failed
Problems that aren't peculiar to JennAir are explained on the cooktop repair page. We come to homes all over the Tampa Bay area; see the areas and ZIP codes we cover.

JennAir Cooktop Repair FAQ
What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.
Didn't see your question?
Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
Clean the filter first; it loads with grease faster than most people expect. If draw is still poor, the blower or the duct is the problem, and airflow gets measured at each point until the weak spot shows up.
Usually. A small gear motor lifts the vent and limit switches stop it. Crumbs in the guide track, a burned-out motor or a failed switch can each leave it stuck, and none of those means replacing the cooktop.
