Amana Cooktop Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Amana has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your cooktop is still under Amana's factory warranty, start with Amana. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.
Inside an Amana cooktop
Amana range tops come in three flavors, each with its own weak spot. On coil tops, the elements plug into receptacle blocks that scorch and loosen, so a burner that heats only when nudged needs a fresh receptacle and often a fresh element too. Radiant glass tops hide ribbon elements under the glass, each governed by an infinite switch; a burner that sticks on high or never warms points to that switch. Gas tops spark to light, and clicking that keeps going after the knob is off usually traces to a spark switch that got wet. A lazy yellow flame after cleaning means a cap is off-center. Cracked radiant glass is a safety issue, and that top should not be used until it is replaced.
Common Amana cooktop failures
- Coil receptacle burned
- Infinite switch failing
- Radiant element not heating
- Spark switch wet and clicking
- Burner cap misaligned

Didn't see your question?
Send us the make, the model tag and what the appliance is doing. Some problems can be narrowed down before anyone drives over; most need hands on the machine.
The receptacle it plugs into has probably burned, or the element's terminals are pitted. A new receptacle, plus a new element if the terminals are damaged, gives a tight connection again.
Usually water got into a spark switch during cleanup. Give it a day to dry. If the sparking keeps up, that switch gets replaced.
