KitchenAid Cooktop Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
KitchenAid has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your cooktop is still under KitchenAid's factory warranty, start with KitchenAid. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Cooktop Repair Visit Works
Tell Us the Symptom
Tell us what fails to heat or light, and send the model number; codes and odd smells are worth mentioning.
In-Home Testing
We test elements or igniters, the temperature sensor and the controls, and check the supply at the outlet or gas valve.
A Price You Approve
You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.
Fix and Check
We install the part matched to your model, then run it to make sure the problem is gone.
KitchenAid cooktop design and construction
You'll find KitchenAid cooktops with gas burners, radiant zones under glass, or induction. Each gas burner has its own electrode, and each knob has a switch that tells the module to spark; spill liquid into one switch and the whole cooktop may tick. Many have a high-output burner and a simmer burner, and an off-center cap on either one makes for a lopsided flame. Radiant zones are heated by elements beneath the glass, and if that glass cracks, the entire top is normally replaced. Induction units rely on coils and fan-cooled electronics, and they ignore any pan a magnet won't stick to. Before any testing, we rule out a wet surface and an active control lock, both of which disable the touch keys. Near the bay, salt air can corrode burner electrodes faster.
Common KitchenAid cooktop failures
- Spark switch stuck clicking
- Burner cap misaligned
- Radiant element failed
- Induction board not powering a zone
- Touch control locked or unresponsive

KitchenAid Cooktop Repair FAQ
Short answers to what people usually ask before a visit. Anything not covered can go in the notes when you book.
Didn't see your question?
Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
Grease or moisture on the electrode, or a cap sitting crooked, are the usual reasons. If you smell gas but nothing catches, turn the knob off and let us check the spark gap and burner head.
Quite possibly. Most have a lock function, and the owner's manual explains how to turn it off. If it stays dark after that, we test the incoming power and the control board.
