Avanti Microwave Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Avanti has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your microwave is still under Avanti's factory warranty, start with Avanti. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Inside an Avanti microwave
Avanti microwaves are countertop and compact units for kitchenettes, break rooms and dorm rooms, and their faults sort into a few groups. If it lights, turns and hums but food stays cold, the high-voltage side has failed: magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer. If it's completely dead, the main fuse has usually blown, often because a door interlock let go. Sparks inside generally start at a scorched waveguide cover or chipped cavity paint. The high-voltage capacitor can stay charged after the cord is out, which makes the inside off-limits for do-it-yourself work. On a low-cost countertop model, paying for a new magnetron rarely makes sense.
Common Avanti microwave failures
- Magnetron worn out
- Door interlock switch failed
- Line fuse blown
- Waveguide cover scorched
- Turntable motor stalled
Problems that aren't peculiar to Avanti are explained on the microwave repair page. Not sure we reach your street? The Tampa-area service map lists every ZIP code.

Avanti Microwave Repair FAQ
What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.
Didn't see your question?
Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
The magnetron or diode is the usual culprit. On a cheap countertop unit, that part plus labor can approach the cost of a new microwave. We pin down the failed part and give you a straight recommendation.
Its internal fuse has most likely blown, and a failed door interlock is a common trigger. A new fuse alone tends to blow again, so the interlocks and monitor switch get tested in the same visit.
