How a Stove Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
Which burner, element or oven function fails, any code on the display, and whether it's gas, electric or induction.
Diagnosis at Home
The technician checks heat sources, sensors and switches, and confirms the power or gas reaching the unit.
Quote Before Work
You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.
Repair and Test
After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.
Thor Kitchen stove design and construction
Day to day, the burners take the abuse on a Thor range. The sealed burners and spark ignition hold up well, yet three things undo them: boil-overs that flood the electrodes, grease that bakes into the ports, and caps set back slightly askew after a scrub. A burner that sparks with no flame often has a hairline crack in its porcelain electrode, and the usual way that happens is a cast-iron grate dropped on it. A tall, lazy, yellow-tipped flame on the big burner says the ports are partly blocked or the cap is off center. Heavy daily use also works knobs loose on their shafts. Cleaning and reseating come before any part is ordered. If you ever smell gas, shut the burners off, leave and call 911 or your gas company from outside.

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
Spark without flame usually means the spark is going somewhere useless: a cracked electrode, or blocked ports right beside it so no gas reaches the spark. We inspect both and replace a damaged electrode.
Yes, following the manual. Dry everything thoroughly and seat each cap flat before relighting; a cap that sits crooked gives a lopsided flame.
