Roper Stove Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Roper has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your stove is still under Roper's factory warranty, start with Roper. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Stove Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
Tell us what fails to heat or light, and send the model number; codes and odd smells are worth mentioning.
Diagnosis at Home
We test elements or igniters, the temperature sensor and the controls, and check the supply at the outlet or gas valve.
Quote Before Work
You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.
Repair and Test
After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.
Inside a Roper stove
On a Roper stove the top takes the daily beating. On coil models, an infinite switch behind each knob pulses power to its burner, and once that switch goes bad the burner is either dead or locked on high regardless of the setting. Scorched receptacles come up nearly as often. Gas models use sealed burners with spark electrodes and a spark module; spills and cleaning water cause most of their trouble. We check each part in sequence, because a good element in a scorched receptacle can look exactly like a bad switch. If you smell gas around a gas stove, turn it off, leave and call 911 or your gas company from outside.
Common Roper stove failures
- Burner stuck on high
- Coil element open
- Receptacle scorched or loose
- Spark module clicking without stopping
- Burner cap off-center, lopsided flame
Faults that Roper shares with other makers are on our main stove repair guide. Our Tampa Bay service areas page shows where Roper visits are booked.

Roper Stove Repair FAQ
Short answers to what people usually ask before a visit. Anything not covered can go in the notes when you book.
Didn't see your question?
Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
The infinite switch for that burner has probably failed. Replacing the switch usually solves it.
Coils, switches and igniters are cheap parts, so most stovetop repairs make sense. If a bigger one doesn't, you'll hear that from us.
