GE Appliances Stove Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
GE Appliances has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your stove is still under GE Appliances's factory warranty, start with GE Appliances. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Stove Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
Which burner, element or oven function fails, any code on the display, and whether it's gas, electric or induction.
Diagnosis at Home
We test elements or igniters, the temperature sensor and the controls, and check the supply at the outlet or gas valve.
Quote Before Work
You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.
Repair and Test
With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.
GE Appliances stove design and construction
You find the freestanding GE stove in rentals and long-unchanged kitchens all over the area. On the gas version the oven igniter gets weaker year by year; eventually it glows but can't pass the current the valve needs, and the oven stops lighting. Coil-top electric versions burn the receptacles the burners plug into, and smooth-top versions lose elements and switches. Oven sensors, bake elements and door hinges make up most of the rest. Pulling one of these stoves out is a good moment to look at the cord or the gas connector and its shutoff valve, and any gas fitting we disturb is leak-tested.
Common GE Appliances stove failures
- Bake igniter too weak
- Coil receptacle burned
- Bake element burned out
- Oven sensor out of range
- Surface burner switch failed

GE Appliances Stove Repair FAQ
A few plain answers before you book. Details about your home or the appliance can go in the form's notes field.
Didn't see your question?
Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
It's a sign the igniter is weak, letting gas build before lighting. Stop using the oven and have the igniter replaced. If you smell gas, leave the home and call your gas utility or 911 from outside.
The receptacle or the burner terminals are likely burned. Don't use that burner. We replace the receptacle, check the wiring and replace the coil if needed.
