Amana Dryer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Amana has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your dryer is still under Amana's factory warranty, start with Amana. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Two cycles to dry
When a load needs a second run, the vent is the first suspect, then the heating circuit. Note how long the vent run is if you know.
Stacked units
Stacked pairs in condo closets have short, tight vents and little room to work. Tell us the closet size and whether the unit is stacked.
Garage laundry
A dryer in a hot garage works against the air around it. Let us know where it sits and how the vent leaves the house.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Tell us whether it spins without heat, takes two cycles, or stops early, and whether it's gas or electric.

02

Find the Fault

The technician checks the vent run first, then the heating parts, thermal fuses, motor and drum support.

03

Your Go-Ahead

You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.

04

Fixed and Verified

After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.

Inside an Amana dryer

Under the cabinet, an Amana dryer is Whirlpool's 29-inch design, which has been around for decades and is about as well documented as a dryer gets. Three parts manage heat: a thermal fuse that blows once when things overheat, a high-limit thermostat and a cycling thermostat. Electric versions heat with a coiled element; the gas version lights a glow-bar igniter and then energizes two solenoid coils on the gas valve. Two rollers at the back and glides at the front hold the drum, and an idler keeps tension on the belt, so squealing or a rhythmic thump nearly always comes from one of those. When there is no heat, the fuse has often blown because the exhaust was choked. Plenty of Tampa homes route that exhaust through the attic or up to a roof cap, and the longer the run, the faster lint builds up.

Common Amana dryer failures

  • Thermal fuse blown by a restricted vent
  • Heating element open
  • Gas valve coils weak
  • Drum roller or idler worn
  • Belt broken

Problems that aren't peculiar to Amana are explained on the dryer repair page. Not sure we reach your street? The Tampa-area service map lists every ZIP code.

FAQ

Amana Dryer Repair FAQ

The questions we hear most often about this kind of repair. If yours isn't here, add it to your booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

Usually at the thermal fuse, and a blown fuse is nearly always a symptom of a choked vent. So airflow gets checked first, then the fuse, both thermostats, and the element or, on gas models, the igniter and valve coils.

In most cases. Rollers, the idler and the belt are low-cost parts on this design, and replacing the worn set usually brings back a quiet drum. The rest of the drive gets a look while it is apart.
