GE Appliances Dryer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
GE Appliances has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your dryer is still under GE Appliances's factory warranty, start with GE Appliances. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Dryer Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
Tell us whether it spins without heat, takes two cycles, or stops early, and whether it's gas or electric.
Diagnosis at Home
The technician checks the vent run first, then the heating parts, thermal fuses, motor and drum support.
Quote Before Work
You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.
Repair and Test
With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.
GE Appliances dryer design and construction
GE dryers turn the drum with a belt, and depending on the model the drum rides on rear rollers with plastic glides at the front or on a rear bearing. Those wear parts cause the squeaks and thumps. Electric GE dryers heat with a coil in a duct protected by a thermal fuse and a high-limit thermostat; gas models use an igniter and valve coils. When a GE dryer turns but won't heat, it's typically a blown fuse, a failed element or a gas valve problem, and a restricted vent is often what caused it. A garage dryer here may vent through the attic and out the roof, and those long runs choke with lint, so the vent is part of every no-heat call.
Common GE Appliances dryer failures
- Thermal fuse blown by a clogged vent
- Heating element coil broken
- Gas igniter or valve coils failed
- Front drum glides worn
- Drive belt broken

GE Appliances Dryer Repair FAQ
The questions we hear most often about this kind of repair. If yours isn't here, add it to your booking notes.
Didn't see your question?
Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
Many GE dryers support the front of the drum on plastic glides. When they wear through, the drum scrapes metal on metal. Replacing the glides is a routine repair, and we check the rollers at the back while we're in there.
Possibly, but a restricted vent is the first suspect. Check the lint screen, the hose behind the dryer and the outside vent. If airflow is fine, we test the element or gas valve and the thermostats.
