Maytag Dryer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Maytag has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your dryer is still under Maytag's factory warranty, start with Maytag. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Dryer Repair Visit Works
Tell Us the Symptom
The model tag from the door frame, plus where the vent runs: out a wall, up through the attic, or to the roof.
In-Home Testing
We measure airflow through the vent, test the heat circuit and safety fuses, and check belt and rollers.
A Price You Approve
We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.
Fix and Check
After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.
Maytag dryer design and construction
Maytag dryers from the Whirlpool era are straightforward to diagnose. An electric model protects itself with a one-time fuse near the blower plus two thermostats, and heats with a coil; a gas model uses an igniter that glows white-hot, a sensor that watches for flame, and a valve opened by two small coils. A blown fuse is a symptom, and the vent is nearly always the cause, so we inspect the run before replacing it. Many Tampa homes send that exhaust a long way, up through an attic to a roof cap, where lint packs in and a bird screen can choke it. Models with a Check Vent light are telling you the same thing. Thumping and squealing come from worn rollers, a dry idler or a belt that has stretched, and a garage install with dust and heat wears them a little sooner.
Common Maytag dryer failures
- Thermal fuse blown after a lint-choked vent
- Gas valve coils weak, igniter glows but no flame
- Electric heater coil broken
- Worn drum rollers or idler pulley thumping
- Moisture sensor bars coated, cycles end early

Maytag Dryer Repair FAQ
Short answers to what people usually ask before a visit. Anything not covered can go in the notes when you book.
Didn't see your question?
Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
Very likely. Long runs that climb through an attic collect lint fast, and roof caps can clog or have screens that trap it. Have the full run cleaned first. If drying is still slow with a clear vent, we test heat and airflow at the dryer.
When the glow appears but the burner never catches, the solenoid coils on the gas valve are the first thing we suspect, followed by the flame sensor. The gas is turned off at the shutoff before the valve is touched, and every joint we open is leak-tested afterward.
