Speed Queen Dryer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Speed Queen has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your dryer is still under Speed Queen's factory warranty, start with Speed Queen. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Dryer Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The model tag from the door frame, plus where the vent runs: out a wall, up through the attic, or to the roof.
Diagnosis at Home
We measure airflow through the vent, test the heat circuit and safety fuses, and check belt and rollers.
Quote Before Work
We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.
Repair and Test
With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.
Speed Queen dryer design and construction
Speed Queen dryers turn a heavy steel drum with a belt and heat it with gas or electricity. No heat starts with the exhaust: a plugged vent makes the dryer run hot until the thermal fuse or high-limit cuts out. Electric units then get the element and cycling thermostat tested; gas units get the igniter, the flame sensor and the valve coils. Noise usually traces to worn drum supports or the idler. Many Tampa houses send dryer exhaust a long way through the attic to a roof cap, and lint packs those runs faster than a short wall vent, so we will point it out when the vent is the real problem.
Common Speed Queen dryer failures
- Thermal fuse tripped by a clogged vent
- Electric heating element open
- Gas igniter or valve coils failing
- Drive belt snapped
- Door switch not sensing a closed door

Didn't see your question?
Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
Check that the exhaust is clear, since a blocked vent is a common reason the thermal fuse blows. Then the fuse and the heat source, whether element or gas igniter and coils, get tested.
A long, crushed or lint-packed vent is the usual reason. Clean the lint screen and check the vent run before assuming a part has failed.
