Roper Dryer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Roper has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your dryer is still under Roper's factory warranty, start with Roper. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Garage laundry
A dryer in a hot garage works against the air around it. Let us know where it sits and how the vent leaves the house.
Two cycles to dry
When a load needs a second run, the vent is the first suspect, then the heating circuit. Note how long the vent run is if you know.
Stacked units
Stacked pairs in condo closets have short, tight vents and little room to work. Tell us the closet size and whether the unit is stacked.
Storm season
An appliance that sat in floodwater stays unplugged until it's inspected. Generators belong outside, well away from doors and windows.
Condos & gated communities
High-rises Downtown or on Bayshore, HOA gates in Westchase or New Tampa: put the gate code, elevator rules or guest parking spot in your notes.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.

How a Dryer Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

The model tag from the door frame, plus where the vent runs: out a wall, up through the attic, or to the roof.

02

Find the Fault

The technician checks the vent run first, then the heating parts, thermal fuses, motor and drum support.

03

Your Go-Ahead

We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.

04

Fixed and Verified

After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.

Inside a Roper dryer

Inside a Roper dryer is Whirlpool's 29-inch design, about as familiar as dryers get. Rollers at the back carry the drum, and a belt kept taut by an idler pulley spins it. Electric versions heat with a coiled element in a housing behind the drum. Gas versions light a glow-bar igniter, prove the flame with a sensor, and open the burner through two solenoid coils on the valve. A thermal fuse kills the heat if things run too hot, and running too hot nearly always comes back to restricted airflow. Many Tampa-area vents travel a long way through the attic or up to the roof, collecting lint, so every blown fuse comes with a vent check. Squeals usually mean rollers or the idler; no heat on a gas model often means weak valve coils.

Common Roper dryer failures

  • Thermal fuse blown from a restricted vent
  • Heating element open on electric models
  • Gas valve coils or igniter failed
  • Drum rollers or idler pulley squealing
  • Belt snapped

FAQ

Roper Dryer Repair FAQ

What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

First make sure the vent isn't clogged. Then the thermal fuse and element get tested on an electric model, the igniter and valve coils on gas. A fuse that blew is a sign of a restricted vent somewhere along the run.

Worn drum rollers or a worn idler pulley, as a rule. Replacing them is a routine, inexpensive repair.
