Sharp Microwave Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Sharp has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your microwave is still under Sharp's factory warranty, start with Sharp. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Mostly electric kitchens
Electric and induction cooking outnumber gas around Tampa, though gas ranges exist. Tell us which you have and read us the tag behind the drawer.
Condo kitchens
Recirculating range hoods and induction tops are common in towers. Add the building's contractor hours and elevator rules to your notes.
Something mounted above?
If a microwave or hood hangs over the cooking surface, mention it. It changes the working room, and an over-the-range unit comes off its wall plate for most repairs.
Condos & gated communities
High-rises Downtown or on Bayshore, HOA gates in Westchase or New Tampa: put the gate code, elevator rules or guest parking spot in your notes.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us the Symptom

Which burner, element or oven function fails, any code on the display, and whether it's gas, electric or induction.

02

In-Home Testing

We test elements or igniters, the temperature sensor and the controls, and check the supply at the outlet or gas valve.

03

A Price You Approve

You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.

04

Fix and Check

With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.

Sharp microwave design and construction

Press open on a Sharp drawer and a small motor drives the drawer out along a track, while switches report its position and a latch has to confirm it's fully closed before cooking can begin. So when a drawer sticks, quits halfway or bounces back, the cooking side may be fine, and we look at the motor, its gears, the track, the position switches and anything wedged behind the drawer. Easy Wave Open models add a motion sensor on the front. When the cooking stops on any Sharp, drawer or not, the cause sits in the high-voltage circuit: a magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer. Interlock switches and the fuse also fail, and over-the-range units have a blower and lamps to consider. The capacitor gets discharged before any test.

Common Sharp microwave failures

  • Drawer motor or gears failed
  • Drawer stalls or reverses partway
  • Cooks but no heat
  • Interlock switch or fuse failed
  • Touch controls not responding

Beyond Sharp, the all-brands page has more microwave symptoms and what causes them. Visits run from St. Petersburg and Tampa up to Wesley Chapel and Spring Hill: check the service area list for your ZIP.

FAQ

Sharp Microwave Repair FAQ

A few plain answers before you book. Details about your home or the appliance can go in the form's notes field.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

The drive motor is a candidate, but so are stripped gears, a damaged track, a position switch, or a utensil that dropped behind the drawer. We check the whole mechanism before naming a part.

That moves the problem to the cooking side, usually the magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer. After discharging the capacitor, we test each to find the one that failed.
