Roper Microwave Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Roper has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your microwave is still under Roper's factory warranty, start with Roper. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Mostly electric kitchens
Electric and induction cooking outnumber gas around Tampa, though gas ranges exist. Tell us which you have and read us the tag behind the drawer.
Condo kitchens
Recirculating range hoods and induction tops are common in towers. Add the building's contractor hours and elevator rules to your notes.
Something mounted above?
If a microwave or hood hangs over the cooking surface, mention it. It changes the working room, and an over-the-range unit comes off its wall plate for most repairs.
Homes closed for months
Back after a season away? Run water through the lines and give the fridge a day before judging it, and tell us how long the house sat closed.
Storm season
An appliance that sat in floodwater stays unplugged until it's inspected. Generators belong outside, well away from doors and windows.
Condos & gated communities
High-rises Downtown or on Bayshore, HOA gates in Westchase or New Tampa: put the gate code, elevator rules or guest parking spot in your notes.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Book the Visit

Tell us what fails to heat or light, and send the model number; codes and odd smells are worth mentioning.

02

Find the Fault

We test elements or igniters, the temperature sensor and the controls, and check the supply at the outlet or gas valve.

03

Your Go-Ahead

You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.

04

Fixed and Verified

After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.

Inside a Roper microwave

Most Roper microwaves are countertop or over-the-range models with simple keypads. A unit that spins and hums without warming the food has a fault in its high-voltage section: the magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer. The capacitor can keep a dangerous charge after the plug is out, which makes this work for a technician rather than a do-it-yourself job. Door switches wear out from opening and closing all day, and a failed one can blow the main fuse. Turntable motors, bulbs and the vent fan on over-the-range models also give out, and a keypad that went dead during a storm may have taken a surge. On a low-priced microwave a new magnetron often isn't worth it, and we'll tell you so.

Common Roper microwave failures

  • Runs but food stays cold
  • Door switch failed, main fuse blown
  • Turntable not turning
  • Vent fan or cooktop light out
  • Keypad not responding

FAQ

Roper Microwave Repair FAQ

Short answers to what people usually ask before a visit. Anything not covered can go in the notes when you book.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

That depends on the part. A diode is inexpensive; a magnetron may not be worth it on a low-cost microwave. We diagnose it and tell you before any work.

A microwave can hold a high-voltage charge even when unplugged, which makes opening one dangerous. Leave it to a technician.
