Viking Microwave Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Viking has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your microwave is still under Viking's factory warranty, start with Viking. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
Tell us what fails to heat or light, and send the model number; codes and odd smells are worth mentioning.
Diagnosis at Home
We test elements or igniters, the temperature sensor and the controls, and check the supply at the outlet or gas valve.
Quote Before Work
We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.
Repair and Test
We install the part matched to your model, then run it to make sure the problem is gone.
Viking microwave design and construction
Nearly every Viking microwave is a built-in: a drawer below the countertop, or a standard or convection unit framed into a wall-oven column with a trim kit. Drawer units open and close by motor, and when one stops halfway, hesitates or will not shut, the motor, its gears or an object jammed in the track is usually to blame. Door or drawer interlock switches cause most units that light up and run without heating; the magnetron, high-voltage diode and capacitor are the next suspects. The high-voltage capacitor stays charged even with the breaker off, so it is safely drained before any test. Touch panels can also stop responding, sometimes after a surge.
Common Viking microwave failures
- Drawer drive stalling midway
- Interlock switch failing
- Magnetron producing no heat
- High-voltage diode shorted
- Touch panel unresponsive

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
Often. A small motor and gear train move the drawer along its tracks. Anything jammed in the track comes out first; then the motor, gearing and position switches are tested before a part is chosen.
Door interlock switches, the high-voltage diode, the capacitor and the magnetron. We discharge the capacitor and test each one before replacing anything.
