Kenmore Microwave Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Kenmore has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your microwave is still under Kenmore's factory warranty, start with Kenmore. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Microwave Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
Which burner, element or oven function fails, any code on the display, and whether it's gas, electric or induction.
Diagnosis at Home
The technician checks heat sources, sensors and switches, and confirms the power or gas reaching the unit.
Quote Before Work
You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.
Repair and Test
With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.
Inside a Kenmore microwave
Outside suppliers, LG among them, have built Kenmore microwaves, so we read the label before looking up any part. An over-the-range model is two appliances in one: a microwave, and a hood with its own fan, lights and grease filters. When the plate spins and the food stays cold, the fault is almost always a door switch, the diode, the capacitor or the magnetron. Turntable motors stop, and hood fans grind or quit. Because the capacitor holds a high voltage after the plug is out, it is discharged before anything inside is tested.
Common Kenmore microwave failures
- Door interlock switch failing
- Magnetron not heating
- High-voltage diode open
- Turntable motor stopped
- Vent fan grinding

Kenmore Microwave Repair FAQ
The questions we hear most often about this kind of repair. If yours isn't here, add it to your booking notes.
Didn't see your question?
Send us the make, the model tag and what the appliance is doing. Some problems can be narrowed down before anyone drives over; most need hands on the machine.
Most often a door switch, the high-voltage diode, the capacitor or the magnetron. The capacitor is discharged first, and then each part is tested so only the bad one is replaced.
A switch, hood fan or turntable motor usually is. When the magnetron or main board fails on an older unit, the repair approaches the price of a new microwave, and we lay out both.
