Dacor Microwave Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Dacor has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your microwave is still under Dacor's factory warranty, start with Dacor. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Self-clean trouble
A self-clean cycle can blow a thermal fuse or lock the door. If the oven died right after one, say so; it narrows the fault.
Lightning and surges
A nearby strike can take out a control board while the elements are fine. If the failure followed a storm, say so in your booking.
Hard-to-light burners
Boil-overs and humid air keep igniters damp and clicking. Dry the burner caps fully before booking; if it still won't light, we'll test the switch and igniter.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.
Homes closed for months
Back after a season away? Run water through the lines and give the fridge a day before judging it, and tell us how long the house sat closed.
Storm season
An appliance that sat in floodwater stays unplugged until it's inspected. Generators belong outside, well away from doors and windows.

How a Microwave Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us the Symptom

Which burner, element or oven function fails, any code on the display, and whether it's gas, electric or induction.

02

In-Home Testing

The technician checks heat sources, sensors and switches, and confirms the power or gas reaching the unit.

03

A Price You Approve

We show you the failed part and give a price for the fix; the work waits for your yes.

04

Fix and Check

With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.

Dacor microwave design and construction

Dacor microwaves come in three forms. Built-in units are framed by a trim kit, speed ovens add convection cooking to the microwave, and the drawer models sit under a counter and glide out on a motor. That drawer is its own small machine, with a drive motor, rails and position switches, and a fault in any of them strands it open or closed. The microwave side behaves like any other: running without heat means trouble in the high-voltage circuit, and a totally dead unit often traces to a door interlock that failed and took the line fuse with it. On a speed oven, the convection element and fan are extra wear parts. The capacitor in the high-voltage circuit can stay charged after unplugging, so opening the cabinet is a job for a technician.

Common Dacor microwave failures

  • Drawer motor won't open
  • Magnetron dead
  • Door interlock broken
  • Speed oven element open
  • Drawer track jammed

FAQ

Dacor Microwave Repair FAQ

What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

Usually. A small motor and gear train drive the drawer, and switches tell the control where it is. We check the rails for anything jammed, test the motor and switches, and replace only the failed part, not the whole drawer.

The two functions use separate parts. If convection works, the elements are fine and the high-voltage side is the likely problem: magnetron, diode, capacitor or transformer. We test each.
