Amana Oven Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Amana has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your oven is still under Amana's factory warranty, start with Amana. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Self-clean trouble
A self-clean cycle can blow a thermal fuse or lock the door. If the oven died right after one, say so; it narrows the fault.
Lightning and surges
A nearby strike can take out a control board while the elements are fine. If the failure followed a storm, say so in your booking.
Hard-to-light burners
Boil-overs and humid air keep igniters damp and clicking. Dry the burner caps fully before booking; if it still won't light, we'll test the switch and igniter.
Tenants & owners
A renter can set up the visit. We report the diagnosis and the quote to whoever owns the appliance, and they sign off before the repair.
Bungalows & older houses
In a pre-war bungalow or an early ranch, a modern appliance may be wired into a much older house. We look at the outlet, supply line and vent along with the unit.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.

How an Oven Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us the Symptom

The model tag (often behind the drawer or on the frame) and what it does or doesn't do when you turn it on.

02

In-Home Testing

The technician checks heat sources, sensors and switches, and confirms the power or gas reaching the unit.

03

A Price You Approve

We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.

04

Fix and Check

After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.

Inside an Amana oven

Amana range ovens are straightforward Whirlpool designs. Gas models light through a glow-bar igniter, which has to pull enough current to open the safety valve; as it ages it still glows but opens the valve slowly or not at all, so a cold or sluggish oven usually points there. Electric cavities lose bake and broil elements, and a dead element often shows an obvious burn-through or blister. A sensor that drifts makes cakes come out uneven or recipes run long. On self-clean models, the lock can stay engaged after the cycle, and the cheaper ranges with mechanical thermostats wander over time. Because the whole range is not expensive, the repair price is always set beside the price of a new one.

Common Amana oven failures

  • Glow-bar igniter weak
  • Bake element broken
  • Broil element not heating
  • Sensor drifting
  • Door lock stuck

Problems that aren't peculiar to Amana are explained on the oven repair page. We come to homes all over the Tampa Bay area; see the areas and ZIP codes we cover.

FAQ

Amana Oven Repair FAQ

What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Send us the make, the model tag and what the appliance is doing. Some problems can be narrowed down before anyone drives over; most need hands on the machine.

Nearly always the igniter. It keeps glowing as it ages, but the current through it falls off until the valve opens late or stays shut. We put a meter on it before swapping it.

Usually. Bake elements are inexpensive and widely stocked. The oven is checked for any second fault before the new one goes in.
