GE Appliances Oven Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
GE Appliances has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your oven is still under GE Appliances's factory warranty, start with GE Appliances. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How an Oven Repair Visit Works
Tell Us the Symptom
Tell us what fails to heat or light, and send the model number; codes and odd smells are worth mentioning.
In-Home Testing
The technician checks heat sources, sensors and switches, and confirms the power or gas reaching the unit.
A Price You Approve
You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.
Fix and Check
With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.
GE Appliances oven design and construction
If a GE oven throws a code, it is usually one of three. F3 says the control sees the temperature sensor circuit open, F4 says it reads as shorted, and F7 says a key on the touchpad seems to be held down. Plenty of GE oven trouble never sets a code at all: a bake or broil element that splits open, or a gas igniter that has grown too weak to let the valve open. Single and double wall ovens slide forward out of their cabinet so we can reach the harness, which is easier when we know the model ahead of time. The Advantium speed oven is a different animal, cooking with halogen lamps, a ceramic heater, a convection fan and microwave energy, and it has a parts list of its own. Running self-clean right before a holiday is a gamble, since the heat finds tired door locks and boards.
Common GE Appliances oven failures
- Oven sensor circuit open (F3)
- Keypad key stuck (F7)
- Bake element burned out
- Gas igniter too weak
- Door lock failed after self-clean

GE Appliances Oven Repair FAQ
What to expect, in brief. Anything specific to your appliance or your building is welcome in the booking notes.
Didn't see your question?
Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
The control sees the oven sensor circuit as open. It may be the sensor, its connector or the wiring. We test the sensor's resistance and the harness before ordering a part.
F7 means the control thinks a key is stuck. Often the keypad membrane has failed or moisture got under it. We test the keypad and its connection to the board.
