Roper Oven Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Roper has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your oven is still under Roper's factory warranty, start with Roper. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How an Oven Repair Visit Works
Tell Us the Symptom
The model tag (often behind the drawer or on the frame) and what it does or doesn't do when you turn it on.
In-Home Testing
The technician checks heat sources, sensors and switches, and confirms the power or gas reaching the unit.
A Price You Approve
We show you the failed part and give a price for the fix; the work waits for your yes.
Fix and Check
After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.
Inside a Roper oven
A Roper gas oven lights with a glow-bar igniter, and the gas valve is in the same circuit as the igniter. The valve opens only once the igniter draws enough current, so a bar that still turns orange but has aged can leave the oven cold indefinitely. That is the classic Roper gas oven call. Electric versions bake and broil with exposed elements, and a burned one usually shows a blister or break you can see. On either fuel, a temperature sensor that drifts makes the oven run hot or cold. If a newer model's electronic control quit right after a thunderstorm, the board is a fair suspect. We test igniter current, elements and the sensor before replacing anything.
Common Roper oven failures
- Igniter glows but oven never lights
- Bake element burned through
- Broil element dead
- Temperature sensor out of spec
- Door hinges loose or bent

Didn't see your question?
Send us the make, the model tag and what the appliance is doing. Some problems can be narrowed down before anyone drives over; most need hands on the machine.
The igniter has weakened. It can still glow orange yet not pass enough current for the safety valve to open, so the gas never flows. A new igniter is the usual fix.
In most cases. Either the temperature sensor is reading off or the control needs recalibration, and the sensor gets tested first.
