Amana Dishwasher Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

Amana has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your dishwasher is still under Amana's factory warranty, start with Amana. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Hard water
Mineral scale collects in fill valves and spray arms. White film on dishes or a slow fill is worth noting in your booking.
Musty front-loaders
Humid air and low-water cycles keep the door boot damp. A smell or black spots usually point to the gasket and the drain filter together.
Hoses in the heat
Rubber fill hoses age fast in a hot garage. If yours bulge or crack at the ends, mention it so we bring braided replacements.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.
Homes closed for months
Back after a season away? Run water through the lines and give the fridge a day before judging it, and tell us how long the house sat closed.
Storm season
An appliance that sat in floodwater stays unplugged until it's inspected. Generators belong outside, well away from doors and windows.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us the Symptom

Tell us the cycle it fails on and any error code; a photo of the model plate saves time.

02

In-Home Testing

The technician runs the failing step, checks the pump, sensors and lock, and inspects the hoses and drain.

03

A Price You Approve

We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.

04

Fix and Check

With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.

Inside an Amana dishwasher

An Amana dishwasher is a basic machine built from Whirlpool components. Most complaints trace to five places: the filter, the drain pump, the inlet valve, the float that limits the fill, and the door latch. Food film and grit on clean dishes usually mean the filter has gone unrinsed for months. Standing water means following the drain route, filter first, then pump, hose and disposer inlet. If it will not fill, either the valve has stopped opening or the float is stuck high and the control thinks the tub is full. Scale gradually narrows the valve screen and the spray-arm holes. Installations missing a raised loop or air gap in the drain line can also let dirty sink water flow back into the tub.

Common Amana dishwasher failures

  • Filter clogged
  • Drain pump failing
  • Inlet valve not filling
  • Float switch stuck high
  • Door latch not engaging

Before booking a Amana visit, you can run through the dishwasher troubleshooting guide for the basic checks. Not sure we reach your street? The Tampa-area service map lists every ZIP code.

FAQ

Amana Dishwasher Repair FAQ

The questions we hear most often about this kind of repair. If yours isn't here, add it to your booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.

Check that the supply valve under the sink is open all the way. If it is, the problem is usually the inlet valve, the float switch, or a latch that is not telling the control the door is closed. Each is tested before any part is ordered.

Small parts make sense: the drain pump, the inlet valve, the latch, the float switch. If the wash motor or the main board has gone on an older machine, the cost gets close enough to a new dishwasher that you should see both numbers, and we show them.
