KitchenAid Dishwasher Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals

KitchenAid has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your dishwasher is still under KitchenAid's factory warranty, start with KitchenAid. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Hard water
Mineral scale collects in fill valves and spray arms. White film on dishes or a slow fill is worth noting in your booking.
Musty front-loaders
Humid air and low-water cycles keep the door boot damp. A smell or black spots usually point to the gasket and the drain filter together.
Hoses in the heat
Rubber fill hoses age fast in a hot garage. If yours bulge or crack at the ends, mention it so we bring braided replacements.
Straight answers
If an older unit isn't worth the money to fix, we say so plainly and show you which part gave out.
Homes closed for months
Back after a season away? Run water through the lines and give the fridge a day before judging it, and tell us how long the house sat closed.
Storm season
An appliance that sat in floodwater stays unplugged until it's inspected. Generators belong outside, well away from doors and windows.

How a Dishwasher Repair Visit Works

01

Tell Us the Symptom

Tell us the cycle it fails on and any error code; a photo of the model plate saves time.

02

In-Home Testing

The technician runs the failing step, checks the pump, sensors and lock, and inspects the hoses and drain.

03

A Price You Approve

We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.

04

Fix and Check

We install the part matched to your model, then run it to make sure the problem is gone.

KitchenAid dishwasher design and construction

KitchenAid dishwashers share the Whirlpool dishwasher family with Maytag and Whirlpool, with KitchenAid adding a third rack, sensor-driven ProWash and often a drying fan on top. Current models trap food in a two-part filter you lift out of the tub floor, rather than grinding it, so a neglected filter is behind a lot of cloudy glasses and sour smells. Beyond the filter, we most often replace the pump, the fill valve, the latch and the float switch. Earlier KitchenAid machines with a grinder can lock up on hard scraps. Hard water leaves deposits on the spray arms and heating parts over the years, and in a humid kitchen a drying fan that has quit shows up quickly as wet plastics.

Common KitchenAid dishwasher failures

  • Filter clogged, poor wash and odor
  • Drain pump failing
  • Inlet valve not filling
  • Door latch not closing the circuit
  • Drying fan not running

FAQ

KitchenAid Dishwasher Repair FAQ

The questions we hear most often about this kind of repair. If yours isn't here, add it to your booking notes.

Didn't see your question?

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.

Often it just wants cleaning. Lift the filter assembly out of the tub floor, wash it under hot water and poke out any clogged spray arm holes. If the smell or film comes back, we test the drain and wash circuits.

Possibly, or, where fitted, the heater, or simply an empty rinse aid dispenser. We test the drying fan and heater and check which cycle options are selected.
