True Residential Freezer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
True Residential has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your freezer is still under True Residential's factory warranty, start with True Residential. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Freezer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Note the temperatures if you have a thermometer, any frost or puddles, and the model number from inside the door.
Find the Fault
We read coil and cabinet temperatures, check both fans and test the defrost parts before naming the fault.
Your Go-Ahead
We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.
Fixed and Verified
After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.
True Residential freezer design and construction
Frost is the constant enemy in a True freezer. Each time the door opens, humid air rushes in and turns to ice on the evaporator coil; a heater-driven defrost, run on a timer or by the controller, clears it on a schedule and then lets the fan restart. In Tampa's damp air, that coil picks up frost faster than it would somewhere drier. If defrost stops working, ice keeps building until the fan can't move air, and the cabinet warms while the compressor runs on. That is why a warm True freezer so often turns out to be a heater, the defrost termination sensor or the controller, with the refrigerant charge fine. The door gasket matters more here than on a cooler, since even a small gap keeps supplying moisture. Coil, defrost circuit and seals all get checked before the sealed system.
Common True Residential freezer failures
- Evaporator coil iced over from failed defrost
- Defrost heater open
- Evaporator fan frozen in place
- Door gasket leaking
- Drain line frozen, ice on the floor

Short answers to what people usually ask before a visit. Anything not covered can go in the notes when you book.
Didn't see your question?
Send us the make, the model tag and what the appliance is doing. Some problems can be narrowed down before anyone drives over; most need hands on the machine.
Two causes cover most cases: humid air sneaking in past a door that doesn't seal, or a defrost system that has stopped clearing the coil. We check the gasket and how the door closes, then the heater, termination sensor and controller.
Not necessarily. An iced coil or a stopped fan will make a freezer run nonstop without cooling. We check defrost and airflow before the compressor.
