Hoshizaki Freezer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Hoshizaki has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your freezer is still under Hoshizaki's factory warranty, start with Hoshizaki. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Freezer Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
Tell us which section is warm, whether you hear the fan or compressor, and what the model tag says.
Diagnosis at Home
We read coil and cabinet temperatures, check both fans and test the defrost parts before naming the fault.
Quote Before Work
We show you the failed part and give a price for the fix; the work waits for your yes.
Repair and Test
With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.
Hoshizaki freezer design and construction
Three separate heaters keep a Hoshizaki freezer working, and each one causes a different mess when it quits. The defrost heater on the evaporator melts frost on a controller schedule, with a sensor ending the cycle once the coil is clear; lose it and the coil ices solid while the box warms. A heater wrapped along the drain line keeps meltwater liquid until it leaves the cabinet; lose that one and ice dams the drain, so water ends up on the floor. A heater around the door frame stops the gasket from freezing to the cabinet; lose that and staff yank the door until the gasket tears. In a humid Tampa kitchen, every opening lets in moist air that becomes frost, so a freezer on the cook line defrosts far more than one in dry storage.
Common Hoshizaki freezer failures
- Defrost heater dead, coil iced solid
- Drain-line heater out, ice dam in drain
- Evaporator fan stopped
- Door-frame heater failed
- Defrost termination sensor fault

Didn't see your question?
Send us the make, the model tag and what the appliance is doing. Some problems can be narrowed down before anyone drives over; most need hands on the machine.
An ice dam in the drain line is the usual reason, meaning the heater that keeps it clear has stopped working. Defrost water backs up and overflows. We test that heater, melt out the blockage and confirm the line flows.
Moist air is getting in faster than the coil can shed it, through constant door traffic or a damaged gasket, or the defrost system has stopped clearing the coil. The gasket, defrost heater, termination sensor and controller settings all get checked.
