Blomberg freezer design and construction
Most of our Blomberg freezer work involves the bottom drawer of a counter-depth refrigerator, though the brand has sold standalone freezers too. Freezer drawers live a rough life: their rails carry heavy loads, and a drawer forced shut over a bag can bend its track and stop sealing. Any gap admits room air, and in a humid house that moisture becomes frost on the food and the coil. A heater clears the coil automatically, with a thermostat and control deciding when; if any of those fail, frost spreads until the fan can't push air. After a hurricane outage, a freezer that restarts but never gets cold may have tripped its compressor overload or lost a board.

Usually. First make sure nothing is wedged behind the basket. If it still stops short, a rail is likely bent or a roller cracked. We replace the rail or slide set and check that the gasket seals across the entire drawer face.
Frost on the packages means outside air is leaking in at a drawer or door. Frost spread over the back panel means defrost has stopped clearing the coil. We check the seal, then the heater, thermostat and control.
