Fisher & Paykel freezers come either as the bottom drawer of an ActiveSmart refrigerator or as a stand-alone integrated column, and both clear their own frost. A heater melts ice off the evaporator, a probe signals when the coil is clean, and a fan circulates air through it. Lose the heater or the probe and ice keeps thickening until airflow stops, the food softens, and you may hear blades ticking against frost. The ice maker is the next usual suspect, whether the fill tube has frozen solid, the valve has stopped opening or the module never starts a cycle. On the drawer design, worn slides let the drawer close at an angle, and in muggy weather that small gap fills the compartment with frost.

Most likely the fan hitting ice that has built up behind the back panel, a sign defrost has stopped working. The fan may be fine once the ice melts, but whatever let the ice form, heater, probe or board, still has to be tested.
Humid air is getting in, or the coil isn't being defrosted. A split gasket, a drawer riding crooked on its slides or a package pressing on the seal will all do it, and Florida air turns any gap into frost fast. We look at the seal, the slides and the defrost parts on the same visit.
