Tell us the appliance and your area, then how to reach you, and we'll follow up to arrange the visit.
Ice-O-Matic Ice Maker Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Ice-O-Matic has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your ice maker is still under Ice-O-Matic's factory warranty, start with Ice-O-Matic. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How an Ice Maker Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Note the temperatures if you have a thermometer, any frost or puddles, and the model number from inside the door.
Find the Fault
We read coil and cabinet temperatures, check both fans and test the defrost parts before naming the fault.
Your Go-Ahead
We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.
Fixed and Verified
After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.
Ice-O-Matic ice maker design and construction
In an Ice-O-Matic cuber, water is pumped from a trough and spills down a vertical evaporator plate where the cubes form. Once the ice is thick enough, a sensor tells the control to harvest, and hot refrigerant gas warms the plate so the whole slab slides into the bin. A water-level sensor sets how much water each batch gets, and a bin switch shuts production down once the bin is full. Mineral buildup on the plate or the sensor throws off the timing of harvest: cubes grow too thick, stick, or fall as one sheet. In summer, an air-cooled unit in a hot room can lose much of its output simply because the condenser cannot shed heat. The Pearl Ice and flake machines are auger designs instead, and their weak points are the gear motor and bearings.
Common Ice-O-Matic ice maker failures
- Scale on the evaporator and thickness sensor
- Water pump weak or stopped
- Ice thickness sensor dirty or misadjusted
- Bin control not sensing a full bin
- Condenser starved of air in a hot room

Didn't see your question?
Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
Not always. Air-cooled machines lose output as room temperature rises. Clean the condenser, check the clearances in the manual and improve airflow. If production stays low, we check refrigerant pressures, water flow and harvest timing.
Its bin sensor isn't registering the ice, often because it's dirty, knocked out of position or failing. We clean and reset it, and replace it if it still won't respond.
