Fisher & Paykel Washer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Fisher & Paykel has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your washer is still under Fisher & Paykel's factory warranty, start with Fisher & Paykel. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
Tell us the cycle it fails on and any error code; a photo of the model plate saves time.
Diagnosis at Home
We test the pump, valves and door or lid lock, and look at the drain line and supply hoses too.
Quote Before Work
You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.
Repair and Test
After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.
Fisher & Paykel washer design and construction
SmartDrive is the heart of most Fisher & Paykel washers: a stator fixed to the tub and a rotor bolted to the shaft, with no belt or gearbox between motor and basket. The control watches the rotor's position and the load it feels, so when a machine stalls in spin, the cause may be the position sensor, a failed winding on the stator or the motor control itself, not just the familiar drain and lock problems. Top-load models also lean on a lid lock and a suspension that takes a beating from uneven or oversized loads. Front-loaders add a rubber boot around the door opening that holds lint and damp, and a small trap ahead of the pump that wants emptying every so often. Any stored fault code gets read before a part is chosen.
Common Fisher & Paykel washer failures
- Rotor position sensor failure
- Stator winding burned or broken
- Drain pump or filter clogged
- Lid lock failing to engage
- Suspension worn, drum knocking

Fisher & Paykel Washer Repair FAQ
Short answers to what people usually ask before a visit. Anything not covered can go in the notes when you book.
Didn't see your question?
Tell us the brand, model number and the symptom. A few things can be ruled out from a description; most faults need testing on site.
Often not. The control flags motor, lock and drain problems the same way, and a slow drain or a lopsided load stops plenty of spins on its own. We pull the stored fault first, then test the part it names.
Usually it's soap residue and damp trapped in the rubber boot and the pump trap, and a muggy laundry room makes it worse. Run the cleaning cycle, wipe the folds of the boot and prop the door open after each wash. If water is left standing in the drum, we test the pump.
