Amana Washer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Amana has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your washer is still under Amana's factory warranty, start with Amana. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Tell us the cycle it fails on and any error code; a photo of the model plate saves time.
Find the Fault
The technician runs the failing step, checks the pump, sensors and lock, and inspects the hoses and drain.
Your Go-Ahead
We explain what failed and quote the repair. Nothing is done until you agree to the price.
Fixed and Verified
With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.
Inside an Amana washer
The typical Amana washer is a Whirlpool-built agitator top-loader with dial controls. Older ones use the direct-drive layout, in which a small coupler of plastic and rubber sits between motor and transmission and is designed to give way first; when the tub fills, drains and never swishes the clothes, that coupler is the prime suspect. Current top-loaders swap the old lid switch for a lid lock and add a shifter that toggles between agitate and spin. On dual-action agitators, the little plastic dogs inside the upper section wear down until it freewheels. Garage installs bring their own complications, since a sloped slab or a drain hose crushed behind the cabinet can mimic a mechanical fault, so we look at the setup as well as the machine.
Common Amana washer failures
- Coupler broken on direct-drive models
- Lid switch or lock failing
- Drain pump clogged
- Agitator dogs worn
- Shifter not changing modes
Problems that aren't peculiar to Amana are explained on the washer repair page. Not sure we reach your street? The Tampa-area service map lists every ZIP code.

Amana Washer Repair FAQ
The questions we hear most often about this kind of repair. If yours isn't here, add it to your booking notes.
Didn't see your question?
Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
If it's an older direct-drive model, a broken motor coupler is the usual answer. Newer machines point to the shifter or the lid lock. And if only the top half of the agitator is limp, the agitator dogs have worn out.
Usually. Most garage floors are poured with a slope toward the door, so the feet get leveled against the floor as it actually is, the suspension gets checked and the load gets redistributed. Worn suspension parts are replaced when needed.
