Maytag washer repair
Maytag Washer Repair in Tampa
In-home service for Maytag washers in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and the surrounding Tampa Bay communities. Top-load washers with agitators or low-profile impellers, Pet Pro models and front-loaders, plus the odd Bravos or Neptune still running. Lid locks, pumps, couplers, shifters and door boots fail most.

Maytag Washer Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Maytag has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your washer is still under Maytag's factory warranty, start with Maytag. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How a Washer Repair Visit Works
Describe the Problem
The brand, the model tag, and what happens: no fill, no drain, a leak, a smell or a code.
Diagnosis at Home
We test the pump, valves and door or lid lock, and look at the drain line and supply hoses too.
Quote Before Work
We show you the failed part and give a price for the fix; the work waits for your yes.
Repair and Test
After the repair we test a full cycle and check for leaks, noise or codes before we leave.
Maytag washer design and construction
Whirlpool-built Maytag top-loaders lock the lid before they agitate or spin, and when the lock cannot confirm it has latched, the display shows an F5 E2 style code and the washer stalls after filling. Beyond the lock, the usual suspects are a pump stopped by a stray sock or coin, a coupler worn smooth so the motor whirs while the basket sits idle, and a shifter that will not change between wash and spin. Pet Pro washers add a filter that must be emptied, or the drain slows to a crawl. Front-loaders wear out door locks, pumps and door boots, and in a damp house that boot is where the musty smell lives. A washer in a second-floor laundry room deserves a drain pan and a quick look at the hoses whenever we are there.
Common Maytag washer failures
- Lid lock not engaging, F5 E2 on the display
- Drain pump blocked by a coin or small sock
- Drive coupler stripped, motor runs but basket doesn't
- Pet Pro hair filter full, slow drain
- Front-load door boot torn or holding mildew

Maytag Washer Repair FAQ
A few plain answers before you book. Details about your home or the appliance can go in the form's notes field.
Didn't see your question?
Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
Whirlpool uses that code when the washer cannot lock the lid. A sock caught in the latch, a lock motor that has quit, a snapped striker or a loose wire will all produce it. We check the latch and test the lock circuit before ordering parts.
Fill hoses, the spot where the drain hose meets the standpipe, the pump itself and, on front-loaders, the rubber boot. Close the valves behind the machine until we find it. We trace the leak while it runs and suggest a drain pan if there isn't one.
