U-Line Ice Maker Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
U-Line has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your ice maker is still under U-Line's factory warranty, start with U-Line. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.
How an Ice Maker Repair Visit Works
Book the Visit
Tell us which section is warm, whether you hear the fan or compressor, and what the model tag says.
Find the Fault
We read coil and cabinet temperatures, check both fans and test the defrost parts before naming the fault.
Your Go-Ahead
You hear the diagnosis and the price, and decide. If the repair isn't worth it, we'll tell you.
Fixed and Verified
With the part fitted, we run the appliance through a cycle while you're there to confirm the fix.
U-Line ice maker design and construction
A U-Line clear-ice machine doesn't use trays. Water trickles over a refrigerated plate and freezes in thin layers, and the minerals stay in the water that runs off. Once the slab reaches the right thickness, the plate is warmed just enough to let it slide onto a grid of heated wires, which slices it into cubes. The same process that makes the ice clear also leaves scale on the plate and through the water circuit. Thin cubes or no ice usually trace to scale, low water flow or a failing inlet valve, and a slab resting on the grid without being cut points to the grid. On models that pump their drain water, a dead pump or clogged line floods the bin. Water supply and drainage get checked before the refrigeration side.
Common U-Line ice maker failures
- Drain pump failure flooding the bin
- Scale on the evaporator plate
- Cutter grid not slicing the slab
- Inlet valve stuck closed
- Thin cubes from weak water flow

U-Line Ice Maker Repair FAQ
A few plain answers before you book. Details about your home or the appliance can go in the form's notes field.
Didn't see your question?
Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
Nearly always a drainage problem: a clogged line or a drain pump that has quit. We clear and test the drain path and put in a new pump if the old one has failed.
Use the cleaning interval in your model's manual, and clean ahead of schedule if output falls or the cubes thin out. Keeping up with it is what keeps scale under control.
