Sub-Zero ice maker repair
Sub-Zero Ice Maker Repair in Tampa
In-home service for Sub-Zero ice makers in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and the surrounding Tampa Bay communities. The ice module inside full-size units, plus standalone undercounter ice makers for indoor and outdoor use, gravity-drain or pump-drain. Scale, weak water supply, drain pumps and bin sensors stop most of them.

Sub-Zero Ice Maker Service for Houses, Condos and Rentals
Sub-Zero has no connection to us, and we aren't one of its authorized repair centers. If your ice maker is still under Sub-Zero's factory warranty, start with Sub-Zero. After that coverage ends, send us the model number and what it's doing when you book; that lets us research parts before the visit.

Sub-Zero ice maker design and construction
This heading covers two different machines. Inside a full-size Sub-Zero, ice comes from a module in the freezer, filled through a solenoid valve; it stops when water pressure is weak, the fill tube freezes, or the freezer warms up. The undercounter ice makers are complete appliances with their own refrigeration system, water circuit and drain, and the pump-drain versions add a small pump that can clog and let meltwater back up into the bin. Minerals from the supply gradually coat every wet surface and slow each harvest, so descaling by Sub-Zero's procedure comes before any part is condemned. Outdoor models work against patio heat; their output falls on hot afternoons, and a clean condenser matters even more.
Common Sub-Zero ice maker failures
- Fill tube frozen inside the freezer
- Inlet valve opening only partway
- Scale slowing the undercounter harvest
- Drain pump clogged and flooding the bin
- Bin sensor stopping production early

Describe what's happening and include the model plate if you can. We'll say what we can from that, and the rest gets checked at your home.
Usually scale, a dusty condenser, or both. Mineral deposits slow how fast the water freezes and releases, and a condenser choked at the front grille cuts cooling. Cleaning and descaling to Sub-Zero's procedure comes first; if output stays low, the valve, pump and refrigeration get tested.
Water comes first: the household shutoff, the line pressure, any old saddle valve, and whether the fill tube has iced shut. After that, the inlet valve and the ice module, including its shutoff arm or sensor. A freezer that holds temperature but makes no ice is nearly always a water or module fault rather than a cooling one.
